Champagne bottles on the bathroom floor.
Party streamers hanging from the ceiling lights.
Quickly picking up the trash, grabbing more.
Peck my cheek, lift me up, on your back, reaching heights.
“Stephanie dear, hold me here, keep me close.”
She whispers in my ear.
“Take me along, wherever you may go.”
Such harsh words, yet they make me flush.
The sun sets along the horizon.
The purples emblazoned in the sky.
She gives my hand a squeeze, looks at me.
