Do you remember a couple years ago when I came to you about my reoccurring dreams? Well, I took your advice, and have been keeping a dream journal which I think these might interest you. The reason I haven't shared any of them with you so far is because they just feel deeply personal for some reason, like it's my own little secret. But now, I just need to get it out of my system and tell someone about it, then maybe it will feel a little more real. This is all of them, by the way. Or at least I think so. I don't expect to have any more.

I've finally had another of the purple dreams. Keeping this journal has helped me remember my dreams much more clearly, but this one was still a little hazy. I remember I was at a table (a dining table?). and there was a figure at the end. The room was pretty fancy, and the walls were purple as usual. As for the figure, I think he she? was talking to me, but I don't remember much else. My dreams are slowly getting clearer though, so hopefully I'll get something more useful soon. There's just something about these dreams that intrigues me. I can't quite explain why, but I know they're significant somehow.

Another one of the purple dreams! This time I remember it much more clearly. It wasn't just a room, it was a mansion. An old mansion—Very grand. Very old fashioned. I'm not quite certain if the walls were actually purple or not, but everything felt like it had this purple haze over it.

I remember the figure too. She was was an old lady. White hair, very long. I don't remember what her face looked like, but she had on this elegant purple dress. She told me to call her Grandmother.

We talked for a while, I wish I could remember the conversation. I don't think it was too interesting, but I definitely made her laugh a few times. Her laugh was so youthful—it caught me off guard a little bit.

Finally, another purple dream. I confess, I kind of missed Grandmother. I don't know, I just wanted to talk to her.

So, I had been hoping for a while to go there again, and I finally got my wish. She remembered me. I know that for certain now. I keep referring to her as if she isn't just a figment of my imagination, but I really think that's true. This whole Backrooms place is so strange that I wouldn't be too surprised if I was simply whisked off somewhere real in these dreams. Or perhaps I'm wrong. Whatever the case may be, I think she was happy to see me too. I asked her how I could visit her more often. She smiled at me, and said that there wasn't really anything I could do. I can't control what I dream after all. She explained that this was why I should make the most of being there with her, though I think she was partially talking to herself. I suspect that she's a lot more lonely than she lets on.

I think I was there for a couple hours. Mostly just talking. At the end of it I asked her how if I could wake up. She looked a little sad, but pointed at a staircase that I had assumed led to the basement. The last thing I remember was walking down those stairs.

I had another one of those dreams last night. It was different this time—It was empty. The purple walls that surrounded me seemed almost threatening when I was alone. I thought about just going down the stairs, back into the comfort of my bed, but I wanted to wait for her.

After pacing in the room where we usually sat for a while, I had the urge to explore the house—I'd actually never gone upstairs before. When I reached the top of the stairs, there was a hallway with a single door on the other end. Even from where I was, I could hear sobbing on the other side. I felt this almost overpowering urge to run in that moment. Like I didn't belong. Like I desperately needed to not be there. But at the same time, I felt an even stronger urge to find out what was on the other side of that door. I knew that if I pondered for too long, my cowardice would take hold, so I quickly made the choice to move forward.

It seemed like it took forever to cross the hallway, and when I finally touched the door handle, the sobbing stopped. That terrible feeling that I didn't belong was gone. I opened the door to find a room that was empty, save for a single rocking chair, covered in cobwebs. Dejected. Unused. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder.

I turned around to see Grandmother. I expected her to be angry, but she just looked sad. "I think it's time for you to go" was all she said, in a defeated, sad tone, and she wordlessly led me down the stairs.

It's been over a year, but I finally got some form of closure for the Grandmother and the purple dreams. In truth, I don't know what it means, but it had a certain finality about it, and yet it left me with a deep feeling of emptiness.

I was in a field. With purple grass and a purple sky. I think the house was behind me, but it was kind of hazy. There was a hole in the ground—a grave, and a coffin was slowly being lowered in. Floating down, as if by magic. For some reason I felt like it was my responsibility to finish burying her, but no matter how much dirt I shoveled in, it was never enough to cover the coffin lid.

And then I woke up.
