PROJECT PHYSETER
The Oversight Council here at the M.E.G. would like to apologize for the current lockdowns. We all know you're confused and frightened, but the only solution to fear of the unknown is knowledge. Here is the information we've collected so far.
On August 8th, Researcher Nolan Davies reported findings of a new infestation of Clumps in Level 3. Clumps, up until now, have generally been considered an endangered species on the way to extinction, which made the discovery a little peculiar. Naturally a research team was dispatched to keep an eye on the situation. What they found was gravely important.
There was an uptick in Clump activity to be sure; yes. We will cover this later in the document. However, the primary source of concern is the entity codenamed "Physeter": a large mass initially considered to be an overgrown Clump. Upon further investigation, it became known that the entity is more sophisticated. After substantial non-Euclidean mapping efforts, it is also clear that Physeter is a Clump with a known surface area of, at minimum, three and a half square miles, as of this message. The continuous mass of flesh lies buried underneath the floors, in the walls, above the ceiling tiles. It has infested the very fiber of the Backrooms itself.
The origin and implications of this creature are unknown. The rate at which Physeter grows is inconsistent, but is measured in meters per hour. The entity is hostile and extremely dangerous; any and all materials — organic or inorganic — that contact Physeter are integrated into the entity, and although the process is relatively slow, it is irreversible once started. Due to the nature of the Backrooms in general, we are unaware of the implications of this spread and how it will affect Level 3 in the future.
The contamination is extremely hard to destroy. As of now, the only known way to prevent further spread is immolation of the local environment, for which kerosene is extremely effective. Any other physical damage either results in the instrument of destruction becoming consumed by the mass, or the release of "Leukocytes": Clumps generated spontaneously by Physeter that react to trauma and fend off sources of damage. It is believed that these Leukocytes account for the uptick in Clump activity initially reported.
There's more. On a routine inspection of Level 4, research teams discovered evidence of Physeter spreading into adjacent levels. The area was doused with kerosene, and the contaminant was expunged, but due to the multiple exits from Level 3, this is unlikely to be the only breach from Level 3 so far or in the future.
Our current instructions are to evacuate Bases Beta and Omega, Levels 3, 4, 5, 31, and any future known levels accessible from Level 3. Any sightings of clumps or Physeter spread are to be reported directly to M.E.G. HQ at Base Alpha in Level 1.

People of the Backrooms: It's time to take the fight to them. We need you — all of you — to join us in the attack on the evolved Clump of Level 3, known as the Physeter. Any able bodied members should be in attendance, by noon on the 20th of September. Bring any flammable material you can: kerosene, gasoline, pitch, tar, firesalt, everything. In addition, any bring any and all weapons you possess to defend yourself from the Leukocytes defending the entity. Our goal is to halt the spread of the contagion before it can consume any more of our living space.
As many of you already know, Levels 3, 4, and 5 have entirely fallen to the entity, and if we don't act quickly more and more of our territory will be overtaken and eventually all habitable space will become infested.

I understand your concern for safety, but your justifications elude me. I've been in the field for a month now, researching Clumps in Level 3. My connection has been shoddy at best; I never received your transmission in the field, and it made no difference. The population of Clumps I've observed is going down, and not up. Conversely, this "Physeter" you speak of is nowhere to be seen; are you digging up the carpet, breaking away the brickwork, and removing the ceiling tiles to find it? There's no evidence that this entity poses any threat to us in any way. Please, I implore you to do more research before you take action. This behavior from an administration is highly concerning.
Better Humanity, yes. But your attack on this creature is unwarranted.

We appreciate your observations on this project of utmost importance, but as only one lone agent of the M.E.G., we cannot approve your findings as part of the documentation for the entity known as Physeter. They do not line up with observations submitted by several other members of the research team and the scenes currently observed on the ground during the attack on the entity. In fact, even now, new threats incurred by the beast pop up every day. Roomquakes shake the walls of Level 3 with every new torching as it threatens to rip the halls apart to thwart us. It is of utmost importance we defeat the creature, and for this reason your document will not be submitted to the wiki.

Hear me, citizens of the M.E.G. and the Backrooms as a whole. The Overseer Council is lying to you. Weeks ago, I submitted evidence to the Council that the attacks on the creature known as "Physeter" were unjustified: and now I have proof. There are ultrasonic scans of Level 3, taken years ago by some of the first researchers to step foot in the Backrooms that prove that this creature has existed for a long time; most likely longer than any human here. The so-called first evidence submitted by 'Researcher Nolan Davies' is a sham: there's never been a Researcher Davies at the M.E.G. before. The Roomquakes we're experiencing aren't retaliation for attacking a spreading contaminant, they're throes of pain of a creature that's been living alongside us for years, unbothered and flourishing but now slowly dying. We aren't killing a threat to the Backrooms, we're killing the Backrooms themselves! Please, before it's too late; cease your attacks and defend any open wounds from further harm, before the entity expires!
Our only hope now is to be a Better Humanity.

People of the Backrooms, now may be the final message we send. The great beast has infiltrated nearly 90% of mapped territory now, this is the last chance we have. We will hold on for as long as we can, but once the great enemy takes the last of our territory, we will have no choice but to proceed. Through trades with various other groups, we have previously obtained the requisite parts for a device of nuclear power. Additionally, we have located the heart of the beast, near the center of Level 3. Should the rooms finally be overtaken, the last Roomquake will be a nuclear detonation.
This is a last stand solution. The situation is critical. Our last line of defense has been breached. We have reached maximum casualty level. This is it, soldiers. We have to hit this damned beast with everything we've got. You are our last hope.
Do not cower in fear, dying in cowardice, languishing while this contaminant takes over. Fight! Fight to your last! Fight to the end! Fight the great enemy and drive it to it's doom! We will not go gently into that good night, we will not end in a whisper, but a bang that will be heard across liminal space. Seek the entity until the end, fight it until the end, and with your last breath defeat the great beast, and may God strike us down if we do not strike down the Physeter.

On April 3rd, 2018, America received its first major attack on U.S. soil from a foreign threat since 2001. But it wasn't a foreign nation that attacked. The entire town of Millstone, Ohio was murdered in a single night by an extranormal force, a group of as of then unknown creatures now identified as Biologic 001582.
This was only the first event.
When we discovered where the creatures came from, there was only one solution. Block the door, or blow the house. Unfortunately, our access was limited. The method by which to transport ourselves there and back was completely unknown, and we had very few operatives who had ever made it to the other side. On July 17th, one of our men on the inside discovered a vulnerability within the extradimensional space. A precision strike could take down the entire extradimensional space, but we had nowhere near the manpower to do so. It would take the efforts of hundreds of unaffiliated citizens of Earth on the inside to finally destroy what they'd taken to calling "The Backrooms". The greatest way to mobilize a force is to inspire hatred, give them a target to be an "other", and the means to destroy it.
Officially, nothing happened on October 13th. Internally, we will always honor the lives of the 3 enlisted and 347 catalogued citizens of Earth who perished in the collapse of the extradimensional space. Their sacrifice to protect America from continued incursions will be recorded, but not remembered.
