Recurrence
Based on testimonies as well as on tests conducted by teams from Ariane Circle and Nomads to trigger the phenomenon, the probability of its occurrence is estimated to 0.9‰. The event is fortunately extremely rare, which allows us to hide it more easily from the rest of the population. However, any testimonies are welcomed, as they offer new data to understand it.
Description
Phenomenon 5-FR, also known as the "Debug Zone", is an event that can take place in very rare occurrences during a clean transition noclip via an object. More precisely, it must be a noclip by "teleportation" during travel caused by a contact with a specific object such as windows or walls.
The phenomenon itself is felt during the sensation of falling down for a brief moment during noclip.
Instead of falling in the usual black void, some waderers report seeing things floating in the distance, in the middle of a dimly lit bluish space.
Only in a handful of cases have some wanderers managed to fall among these objects during their noclip. They report seeing rows of smooth white cubes, each one spaced approximately 5 to 50 meters apart and arranged in order of increasing size, all across several levels extending as far as the eye can see. The fall in this area seems to dilate time, as it lasts at least 10 seconds, compared to the 1 to 3 for a usual noclip, without taking into account that the travel stays instantaneous from an outside perspective in both cases.
On each of these cubes lies a living being from the Frontrooms belonging to a family or taxonomic order similar to that of the adjacent cubes, completely motionless, as if frozen in time or displayed in a museum. The logic behind the arrangement of these cubes beyond taxonomic links is unknown, but it seems that this space contains all living beings from the Frontrooms, the Backrooms, and possibly other different places.
Among the exceptional cases of falling within the structure, a single testimony speaks of entire rows and floors filled with unknown dinosaur-like animals. Another one reported seeing rows of tiny and seemingly empty cubes1. Finally, one testimony mentions seeing a row of much larger cubes2 on a single floor, all of them containing what seemed to be another cube of opaque or translucent material, changing in texture and size in less than a second according to his account.
It is currently impossible to determine the nature of the Phenomenon, due to the necessary circumstances to trigger it, its low occurrence, and the fact that no one has yet managed to touch the cubes or their contents. It could be an infinite Level, but it is also possible that it is a psychic effect caused to the wanderer during the noclip, in the same way that Numberation affects the brain in a very specific and illogical manner.
Special Case
During the noclip tests set up to try to force the Phenomenon to occur, a Nomad volunteer saw something unexpected and strange, even in the context of the Debug Zone. He fell for what seemed to him like almost a minute. He found himself in a yellow void facing about twenty gigantic cubes measuring several hundred meters that contained no physical objects, but rather more "abstract" things3:
- A distortion of light around an invisible sphere at the center of a cube
- Flashing lights surrounding a static white light
- An object resembling a black hole
- Several empty cubes, slightly smaller than the others but still enormous
- A cloud of particles that increased in volume while becoming more illuminated before gradually shrinking and losing its brightness
It is worth noting that the wanderer's recording equipment became unusable and ceased to function upon exiting his noclip; everything seemed to have been demagnetized. Occasional tests are still being conducted to locate this particular area for more precise documentation.
Theory
The main theory regarding the Debug Zone is the reason why this article is restricted on the site. Its diffusion to the public could severely harm their psyche, which is certainly undesirable in the Backrooms.
If it turns out that the Phenomenon is indeed a Level, it would be a storage space for everything that exists in our reality, be it physical objects or entities, or concepts and phenomena that govern our universe and our laws of physics, such as light or gravity. The Debug Zone would support the Simulation Hypothesis already backed by phenomena or locations previously recorded, such as the Source or the noclipping itself. This would mean that the Phenomenon is actually a place, likely hidden within the Blue Channel, and is fundamentally important for maintaining the existence and stability of both the Backrooms and the Frontrooms, as it would be a "development zone" where the operational models of our reality, such as the laws of physics, along with what derives from them, like living beings and other types of objects, are stored, like the source code of software.
For now, this entry must remain hidden from the public eye, as learning that our lives are potentially fabricated, in addition to being so miserable, would truly not be a desirable gift… This decision may be questionable, but granting public access to this information would change nothing in the lives of the residents of the Backrooms, except to further deteriorate their mental state. Caution will take precedence over truth until further notice.
