SURVIVAL DIFFICULTY:
Class 2
- Safe
- Unsecured
- Low Entity Count
Level 2-FR is the third level listed in the database, by a French explorer. The earliest document covering the level was found on June 5th, 2003.
Description
Level 2-FR takes the form of an Eiffel Tower with a reversed structure, although floors are still upright and accessible. As a reminder, the Eiffel Tower is made of 3 floors open for visitors and in this level those 3 floors extend and repeat themselves infinitely. Once you "noclipped" from another level, you will reach floor 2 of the Eiffel Tower by default. If you choose to go down, you will end up on floor 1, but going further down, you will reach floor 3, then 2, then 1, then back to floor 3, and it goes on… The same phenomenon occurs by going up; from the second floor, you will reach the third, then the first, then the second again, then the third. However, you should know that even if these floors are alike, they're not the same; if your teammate decides to go up and for you to go down, you won't see each other.
Apart from the tower being lit up by its usual light bulbs, the sky is like a moonless night; it's impossible to see the exterior. There's no ceiling or ground; the tower seemingly levitating. Furthermore, a grim fog covers up both extremities of the level, making the exploration of the first and third floors more oppressive and preventing you from distinguishing where you walk. The fog also reaches the staircases; the elevator being unusable (with exception), you must use your legs. Beware, however; staircases are not lit up, and an ankle sprain can come pretty quickly; it is advised to always carry a pocket light, a lantern, or any other light source on you.
To maximize your chances of survival, it is advised to always go down rather than go up, as the more you're going down floors, the fresher the ambient air will become, opposed to the ascension, which increases the temperature. According to several wanderers' records, upon entry, the air is between 17 and 20°C (62.6 °F and 68 °F). Following some measures and thinking, it has been concluded that, by floor, the temperature is altered by 0.2°C, meaning that if you go down a hundred floors, you'll reach the critical point of 0°C (32°F). However, you will need to travel fifty floors upright to reach the point of 30°C (86°F), a temperature already unbearable in the long run.
There is a restaurant on each first floor named "Le Jules Verne".
You will find there, in the restauration room, some almond water reserves as well as food. The mood of the restaurant still isn't more welcoming than the rest of the floor. The fog is spreading there, and it remains as furniture only a chair, placed in a corner of the room, highlighting the rope hanging over it, decorated with a noose. It is recommended to avoid kitchens, as there is nothing useful for survival, and entities might lurk in it. And most important of all, if the restaurant has a poster saying that a birthday party is ongoing, don't hesitate to come; everyone's invited! =)
The second floor is composed of a set of stalls and souvenir stores and a bar, although they are lacking any kind of furniture.
The third floor, being the last, is the smallest of the levels and is composed of two parts: an empty area usually reserved for radio and broadcasting and an art gallery, empty as well.
Entities
Several entities have been catalogued during the numerous explorations of Level 2-FR:
- There mainly are "Bin lampreys" located on each floor no matter the temperature.
- It's possible to see Smilers under 10°C and above 30°C on floors 1 and 3, mainly in some angles, staircases, and even in the kitchens of "Le Jules Verne".
- Then, Skin Stealers can be found solely when reaching 0°C or theoretically when reaching 60°C (140°F).
- Small groups of Facelings have also been discovered, their occurrence is rare, but it is said that they bring naïve explorers to the edges of the floors before pushing them out of the tower, making them fall into the darkness.
Bases, Outposts, and Communities
It's very likely to find other explorers taking little breaks in the restaurant on the first floor of each cycle; however, given the nature of this level, it's not advised to settle there in the long term.
Entrances and Exits
Entrances
It's possible to enter Level 2-FR from Level 7-FR by "noclipping" in posters showing metro lines. It's also possible to reach this level by "noclipping" into any poster, photo, or image showing the Eiffel Tower, and this, in any existing level.
Exits
The most well known exit of Level 2-FR consists of throwing yourself out of the tower or to be pushed by a Faceling; if you are lucky enough during your fall to avoid any of the numerous beams composing the tower, you will get through the fog to end up in Level 7.
Next is another exit via the elevator that allows one to reach Level 5 or Level 13 if it doesn't have an "Out of Service" sign.
Finally, it's possible to exit the level by randomly "noclipping" in the ground to reach Level 169. "Noclip" from a bench will take one to Level 36. Then, if you are unlucky enough that you "noclip" in the kitchens of "Le Jules Verne", you will end up in Level 127.
