Level 16-FR is the 17th francophone Level of the Backrooms, nicknamed "Aero". It sort of takes the shape of a large, white, and smooth building, seemingly made out of plastic and reflecting the light of the sun that lights it up throughout day and night. The building contains internal infrastructures that look like empty offices, hospital waiting rooms, kitchens, elevators, living rooms, and aquariums.

At first glance, unlike most Backrooms levels, Aero instills a deep feeling of nostalgia and calmness upon entry.
This Level may seem impressive, especially from a distance, as it's an enormous building with several stories and subdivisions, all of which display hard, smooth, white plastic walls that shine due to the surrounding lights that are scattered all over the place. There are doors in this building, and it is entirely possible to get out. Its outside looks like the green plains of Level 8-FR and is a gateway to reach that level. Some elevators in the Level are linkedto those of Level 8-FR. Streams of water can sometimes spill out of the aquariums, creating trails of water that resemble an airplane and wash away the plastic clownfish and algae. These kinds of trails haven't been classified as dangerous, as they are simply beautiful to look at.
The inside is vast and never gets dirty, it tends to have a minimalistic look with colors, such as apple green and blue lagoon, the only other color being white. Although sometimes some sun yellow appears, with yellow circles seemingly being printed on the wall, which are of poor quality.
Lounges, sofas and other structures look rather futuristic, with round and smooth aesthetics. They may remind of waiting rooms, like at the doctor's office or the hospital.

A picture of fruits from the Level, taken by a wanderer.

Fruits can also be found here and are the only food available, thought they look more like jelly or glass as opposed to real fruits. They are all round and perfect-looking in shape, They are translucent and bright in colour.
They have no notable smell and show no sign of decomposition, as a normal fruit would rot if staying for too long in the same place, and when someone tries to bite into it, the fruit becomes soft and elastic, fleeing the mouth that tries to eat it. If the person succeeds, they report that it tastes like industrial candy from the Frontrooms, while having an aftertaste of plastic.
Hard to digest, those fruits give a feeling of quick satiety, followed by stomach pains.

Atmosphere

With high ceilings and large, uncluttered surfaces, this Level gives off the impression of being in a photo of a Windows' advert in the 2000s. It will give a feeling of highs and deep nostalgia, with its white arches, aquariums merged into the walls here, and vivariums on the ground or ceiling there, one may think there is a wonderful biodiversity in this building, but there isn't; it only consists of fish, plants and animals made of plastic. Some shrubs are indeed real and keep their perfect look, being cut without any external intervention.
The walls are especially cold, and the air is strangely lukewarm, easily reaching 23°C (73°F), making its atmosphere weirdly welcoming and warm.
It is possible to find sofas and seats on the walls and ceiling, as well as other fournishings like desks and even cups. The cups are all of the same shape and made from the same material. Only the bench changes according to the exposure from the artificial sun, yellowing based on the amount of sunlight that hits them.
It is entirely possible to move in for some time; however, living here with only the fruits originating from the Level and the aquarium water seems difficult. The aquarium water being oxygenated tap water.
Noises from bubbles popping or rising to the surface completely immerses you in the Level, you'd sometimes be submerged in the water as the noises diverge so much from reality. Only the sun will tell you you can breathe.
It is also easy to get lost, so you are advised to take a guideline with you.

Bases, Outposts and Communities

Entrances

  • Falling in one of the anomalies of Level 14-FR will make you no-clip in Level 16-FR. However, not all anomalies are entrances to Aero, so choose wisely.

Exits

  • Finding a recess in a wall or in the ground, in proximity of an aquarium, will give you the possibility of exiting the Level by no-clipping inside it, falling into a random level containing few or no entities.
  • When locating a water flow exiting the building, you can attempt to dive in it and let yourself be dragged along. This will directly lead you to the main building of level-43.
