Hello TS! pnn wepmpnn wepm is here to bring you the site news for January and February. It's been a crazy start to the new year, so let's see what happened.

Also, before we begin, Silver and Praetor left me to do this on my own :(

Blurb Contest 2026

To combat the issue that was the original Backrooms blurb being non-CC, Blurbcon was launched to decide on a new CC-compliant blurb. There were a total of 40 submissions, but of course, only one of them could win.

The winning blurb was Blurb 38 with 19 votes! Made by centurys lutecenturys lute and akarine147akarine147. Congratulations on winning!

They say that it's an afterlife–not for people, but for places. For every chain storefront demolished, every retail outlet bought out, every dead mall razed to the ground. A limbo for every building without purpose, those in-between spaces. Endless structures so unfathomable, yet so clearly man-made. Edges in the curtains of memory, corners that open up at the seams of reality to let the unlucky wanderer in.

Be careful out there, for the footsteps that fill these halls may not only be your own.

Of course, we also have to mention our runners-up: Blurb #9 by BlueSignetBlueSignet with 16 votes, and Blurb #17 by neptunium153neptunium153 with 12 votes.

Valentine Blitz 2026

As Praetor once famously said: "Love is in the air? WRONG! Writing is.."

Okay, fine, I'll give context. In February, a writing blitz was held where two people would collaborate together on writing a romantic article, all to celebrate Valentines Day. The event saw a total of 7 new articles by 14 authors. Funnily enough, all but one were posted on the same day, February 28th.1 Don't ask why…

Series Hub

This.PNG

There is now a hub dedicated to the many tales with multiple parts, which are referred to as a series. Some of these series had their own central hub containing all parts of the story, and the new series hub acts as a hub to these hubs.2

Currently, there are four different tale series that have been added to this hub, with more on the way.

If you are interested in joining staff, you are always welcome to apply!

Currently, we are in need of new staff, specifically people who will:

  • Be on the Tech team and help with themes, CSS, and other techie things.
  • Can help act as record keeper, posting important announcements to Oversight.
  • Pick art features and contact artists, then put them on the front page.
  • Help rewrite guides and FAQs to prepare for the influx of newbies that may come because of the Backrooms movie.

The GLMP and Critic Crew are looking for new recruits; if you have any interest in giving critique, greenlighting, and/or assisting with the trimming project, you can Apply Here or talk to a greenlighter on Discord.

New Pages

From the past two months, we have gotten a total of 32 new articles, although 3 of them are miscellaneous pages, leaving 29 that were opened for feature voting.

Of course, only four from each month could be selected as the best of that month, so let's take a look at them.

Page Features

I mean, c'mon, it's a mirror. That's how CamaradeAlbabarCamaradeAlbabar describes "For sale: mirror, looked at once," anyway. This somewhat short tale is about someone trying to sell a mirror. Pretty self-explanatory. But who's the seller, and what is their reason for selling it?

From a bad 2020 page to a good 2026 page, we have the long-awaited rewrite of Level 36 - "Timeless Airport", by Endrew1Endrew1. This sprawling airport provides flights to other Backrooms levels, and the article was set up by the Backrooms Travel Agency to function as a guide to new wanderers.

Endrew1Endrew1 also rewrote the second part of the previous feature, Level 36.1 - "Astral Airplane". These are the airplanes that fly out of Level 36 to transport passengers to other levels.

And here we have the very first article of 2026. In Prince des vaches, doctrinatordoctrinator shows us the strange lives and deaths of Jean Meier. But… what's even going on?
