Hello folks!

As May 15th drops, so does April's newsletter! Abdallah AmrAbdallah Amr, DrAkimotoDrAkimoto, BlueSignetBlueSignet, and jan Jejasajan Jejasa with you today as we go over the unarguably best month of the year.

As always, please let us know if you have any suggestions for next month's newsletter! We're always looking for ways to improve. =)

Anniversary Event Over!

This month we took the time to celebrate our site's fifth anniversary, with a ton of great articles and plenty of other fun stuff. We held several events that highlight some of the best aspects of our community and give a nod to our roots as a site.

  • We held an art contest to find a new server banner for our discord! There were a total of six submissions for Bannercon2025, with BluzyxBluzyx's amazing entry taking the win in the end.
  • Kahoot Trivia Night put the community's knowledge of our site to the test, with PrismaticMoosePrismaticMoose and ReyDayReyDay showing that they really know their stuff!
  • The Classic Writing Blitz inspired our author base to create a total of 23 surviving submissions based around the writing style and restrictions of our wiki's early days.
  • Our "Poetry for Neanderthals" Game Night, held on Discord, had a shaky start due to some technical difficulties but ended up being a lot of fun and something we hope to do again some day.

April Fools!!

On April 1, Atlas announced the unfortunate news to our discord server: due to increases in Wikidot pricing, our wiki would need to feature advertising from now on. Implemented by Abdallah AmrAbdallah Amr, the ads promoted many kinds of products—like the ever-so refreshing almond water, the oh-so hot firesalt, and the ah-so beautiful Level 260, home to the glow of the Northern Lights. Although readers of this paragraph may think the ads were intrusive, they were in fact not unobtrusive!

Staff Updates

- DrAkimotoDrAkimoto became a mod.
- ghostchibighostchibi will be helping BlueSignetBlueSignet revamp Oversight to make it easier to find stuff for staff and community members.
- YourWeirdPlantYourWeirdPlant stepped down.
- Super-Robot14Super-Robot14 stepped down.
- CamaradeAlbabarCamaradeAlbabar stepped down.
- DivineAtlasDivineAtlas stepped down as the Disc Admin and will be BlueSignet's second in command. This opened an Admin slot for Disc specifically.

If you are interesting in joining staff, you are always welcome to apply!

Specifically, we want people who can do the maintenance tasks, run Discord events, and who are willing to help us revamp critique.

The art features now have their own fragment pages. It's just a backend thing, but now the art files are more organized yay!

We also realize we need to communicate with the community better, so these are some topics staff is considering at the moment:

- Having more productive conversations in the Discord.

- Revamping our critic system yet again. We have too many writers and not enough people willing to critique. DrAkimoto is working on something as well.

- Staff is taking a break from events in May and perhaps June because of the anniversary event, but there will be a small thing for Pride at the very least.

April Features

BlueSignet forgot to post the art features for March, so here they are:
