SURVIVAL DIFFICULTY:

Class 2

  • Minimal entities
  • Safe*
  • Secure*

Level 974.1 is a sub level of Level 974 that can be accessed via a computer on the desk in the bedroom.

Note: This level’s survival difficulty class can change to a class 3 with minimal entities if certain actions are done by the Wanderer, those being finding a semi-large quantity of ‘clues’ or entering the area known as “The Dwellings”.

Description:

Level 974.1 manifests as an endless expanse of segmented rooms, each woven from the dreams of the current Wanderer. These dreams, whether previously experienced or yet to occur, are randomly dispersed across a multitude of rooms, varying in both shape and size. Each room is equipped with multiple entrances and exits, some of which are more conspicuous than others. The laws of physics and the passage of time exhibit significant variability within each of these rooms. Notably, nightmares are absent from this sub-level; however, they may start to appear based on the actions of Wanderers.

Within this sub-level, Wanderers may encounter objects that emanate a distinct aura of significance, contrasting sharply with the surrounding environment. These items are theorized to serve as clues regarding the identity of the “Owner” of the computer in Level 974, as well as potential insights into the password for that profile. The contrast or aura does not appear as strong for Wanderers that are children. Most of these clues are not able to be documented due to corruption, however some clues include: a plushie of a cat, an empty bowl, an empty plate, a damaged map of what appears to be a forest, a syringe, a crimson flower and a small white dress that has been withered.

Finding clues can alter both the sub level and main level of 974. The “Owner” will be responsible for changes to the level and sub level. Possible alterations enacted by the "Owner" might include additions of nightmares included within the rooms of the sub level, hallucinations, both visual and auditory, as well as induced insomnia which all get progressively more severe the more clues that are found. “Kitty" will also stay further away when stalking the Wanderer in the main level.

Anything obtained in this sub level cannot be transported back to the main level, including pictures and recordings. Additionally, any physical alterations or effects experienced by the Wanderer within the dream rooms will not carry over, unless instigated by the Owner as a result of accumulating enough clues.

The Dwellings

3d recreation of the dwellings

If Wanderers venture too deeply into the sub-level, they may inadvertently find themselves in an area known as “The Dwellings.” This region is characterized by an array of floating and shifting room frames, walls and doorways of grayscale colors with shades of a lavender-like color that no-clip into one another within a vast, potentially infinite expanse. As Wanderers progresses further into the Dwellings, the environment becomes increasingly darker, accompanied by an overwhelming sense of dread. This area is completely silent in contrast to the dream area. Despite the frames and walls no-clipping into one another, they remain solid and impervious to any external matter. This phenomenon can occasionally result in unintended traps, where entrances may be obstructed by a wall or frame until it drifts away.

It is theorized that there are entities deep within the Dwellings, but nothing has yet been confirmed. While traversing this area, Wanderers will experience a sensation akin to low gravity, reminiscent of movement within a satellite or spacecraft. The Dwellings are visible from the dream section, exhibiting a constant state of shifting and drifting about. When Wanderers begin to approach the Dwellings, all sound will become less audible and gravity will start to lower.

Entities

This sub level is home to a singular entity known as the “Owner.” Sightings of the physical body of Owner are exceedingly rare, and those few Wanderers who have encountered the entity have declined to provide comprehensive documentation of their experience. However, accounts suggest that the entity does not manifest in its “true form.” The only description unveiled was the head being an eye encapsulated in a star shaped covering, but nothing is known about the "true form".

Additionally, there exists a theorized group of entities referred to as the “Dwellers.” However, the existence of the Dwellers is widely regarded as a product of hallucinations or paranoia among Wanderers. The nature and characteristics of these entities remain largely speculative, with no definitive evidence to substantiate their presence within this sub level. The consensus of the appearance of these theorized entities is usually described as a shadow, sometimes vaguely humanoid. It does not seem to have any defined features either.

Bases, Outposts, and Communities

There are no bases, camps or outposts possible on this level.

Entrances And Exits:

Entrances

Exits

Wanderers can choose to wake up at any time (with the exception of if the Wanderer is in the Dwellings) and will be returned to level 974. You can also naturally wait for a full 8 hours to wake up, however time dilation may make this amount of time feel shorter or longer.
