Date: 26/07/17
Location: Overseer C's office, Base Gamma. Level 3.
Participants: Andrew Donovan, Somalia Hanks, Ale Venrick.
Ale Venrick: Sorry about this, but— fucking hell!
[A second after stepping into the small office space used by Andrew Donovan, Ale threw his arm to cover his face. Somalia and Andrew, at the other side of the room, jumped from their positions and stood upright.]
Andrew Donovan: Ale! You're up early.
[Ale lowered his arm, cringing. He looked at Andrew, who did up three undone buttons on his shirt, and then to Somalia, who looked aside and wrung fingers through her greying hair.]
Ale Venrick: Yeah. Look, I have to go down to that "restricted" level. Justin was going to, but he's busy on Level 25. Something about some old 7 explorers.
Andrew Donovan: Do you want me to take his place…?
Ale Venrick: Kat's busy with Justin, so… Yep. You can bring your missus.
Somalia Hanks: I'm not-
[She paused, looking to a hurt and confused Andrew. Silence sat painfully for 15 seconds, though Somalia Hanks eventually broke it.]
Somalia Hanks: I'll come.

Description

Level 607's first entrance.

The second entrance.
Level 607 is a mountainous and vegetated level, connected to Level 76 and Level 77. It is home to a large complex operated by what is believed to be an organisation of entities. As they do not allow humans to enter, and the building(s) are at an unknown, but long distance away from the perimeter fence. No additional information has been acquired at this time.
The Level 76 side of Level 607 opens onto a mountainside plateau, the edges skirted by a fence. The mountain descends 175 meters into a thick, deciduous forest. Smoke occasionally rises from deep within. At the far side of the plateau, beyond the restricted area, is a bunker entrance and funicular1 that descends the cliffside. At the base is a prefab hut and a dirt trail.
Level 77's side opens to a dry flatland surrounded by barbed wire fencing in a pentagonal pattern. The far side is parallel to a river, and is crossed by a singular bridge. On the other side are vaguely industrial buildings and a dirt road that follows upstream.
Both areas are guarded by snipers or other long-range weaponry in masked locations, and little activity has been spotted both in 607 and the connecting levels. Almost every time anyone has passed the restricted threshold, they have been gunned down in a single fatal shot. So far, this has resulted in seven fatalities and one injury.
Entrances and Exits
Level 607 is accessible only from Level 76 and Level 77 by going through a rusting metal archway. Neither of these entrances are to be used under any circumstances.

Date: 26/07/17
Location: Tea leaf farm near 607's entrance. Level 76.
Participants: Andrew Donovan, Somalia Hanks.
Somalia Hanks: You pushed him!
Andrew Donovan: I didn't push him. Jesus, Melody.
Somalia Hanks: He is bleeding out back there!
Andrew Donovan: Yeah, and there's medics helping him. So he's fine.
Somalia Hanks: He's been shot in the stomach!
Andrew Donovan: Which is better than the last seven or so people who tried to cross the boundary? I think their sniper's shot went long.
Somalia Hanks: …You wanted to see what would happen, didn't you?
[Andrew seemed caught off guard, clearing his throat and looking to 607's gate as he contemplated his reply.]
Andrew Donovan: Ale was nervous about getting close. He has to map the place as part of his job, so I gave him encouragement.
Somalia Hanks: You. Pushed. Him.
Andrew Donovan: Fine, whatever, why not. But we know more than we did before?
Somalia Hanks: He almost died!
Andrew Donovan: And the fact he didn't is fantastic!
Somalia Hanks: Wow, you're very sympathetic.
Andrew Donovan: I… more meant in a research way. I'm glad he's alive; of course I am, but now we know their snipers can miss. Come to think of it, we also know they only shoot once. They gave us time to pull him away.
Somalia Hanks: Ale is dying, and your first thought is morbid fucking research.
Andrew Donovan: Somalia-
[Andrew sighed, attempting to hug the old woman. She slapped both his hands out of the way, taking a step back and almost losing her footing in the mud.]
Somalia Hanks: I'm not interested! You pushed Ale, expecting him to die. Don't spin this as "research" because you're disappointed he's alive. I've… seen your plans for 174-
Andrew Donovan: What?-
Somalia Hanks: I'm an archivist, you idiot!
Andrew Donovan: Archivists don't have access to… 174's stuff.
[Andrew noticeably stiffened, tugging at his collar.]
Somalia Hanks: Well, I do. Since Asher… vanished, I was next in line for hir accesses. Do you even care ze's basically dead?
Andrew Donovan: I… Guess…?
[Andrew sounded unconvinced at his own words, and Somalia could tell. She groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose.]
Somalia Hanks: I don't know what's happening to you, but it is sick. I don't want a part of it or you anymore.
Andrew Donovan: The 174 stuff is–
Somalia Hanks: If you bullshit me, we are done. I know we're not dating, because that is… weird. But whatever we are, it'll be over. Go help Ale and stop with your weird death fetishes, or so help me.
Andrew Donovan: It's not a-
Somalia Hanks: What did I just say?
[Andrew's squinted his eyes, biting his bottom lip in contempt. He fixed his jaw, turning and beginning to walk towards the closest path through the tea fields.]
Andrew Donovan: You used to understand.
[Somalia's fists tightened into balls, jittering with rage as Andrew joined the dirt path and vanished behind some trees. She shouted loudly, hitting the gateway with the side of her fist while her other arm went across her face in anguish. Once calmed down, she entered Level 607 to aid the medical personnel.]
