RE: Formal Demand to Cease and Desist
Dear Backrooms Wikidot Community & Staff,
Given the nature of your website, it was deemed that this is best way to serve this notice to all applicable parties. This article serves as a formal demand that you immediately cease and desist from using all references to the Backrooms©, Threshold©, Bacteria©, or any product or image associated therewith the aforementioned copyrighted material.
It has come to our attention that you have been engaging in the following actions:
- Writing about the Backrooms©;
- Creating images associated with the Backrooms©, including but not limited to Hallways©, "OC" fan service, more Hallways©, and pictures of A Sink© employees kissing various "entities"1;
- Coldposting;
- Engaging in "role-play" related to the Backrooms© and associated properties.
Your actions are unacceptable and may constitute a violation of applicable laws:
You and your associated parties have repeatedly released media that constitutes copyright infringement under 17 U.S.C. § 501.
You and your associated parties have violated the exclusive liminality rights granted under 17 U.S.C. § 106, including unauthorized reproduction and distribution.
To further the list of infractions you2 have, on many occasions, continued the propagation of "lore", "narratives", and other literary devices to create a community built on fallacy; as stated in 67 U.S.C. § 420: "the Backrooms© are supposed to be liminal".
We are prepared to seek injunctive relief under 17 U.S.C. § 502 to prevent further infringement, in the amount of 6 million liters of "almond water", or 500 billion USD.
Accordingly, you are hereby directed to:
- Immediately stop the above-described behavior, and refrain from any further actions of a similar nature.
- Pay restitution to B24 Films LCC; in an amount deemed suitable by a jury of your peers.
- Watch the Backrooms© movie on IMAX.
- Stop all references to "Yellow Hell", "Complex", "Level 0", and all other applicable aliases.
- Like, Comment, and Subscribe.
- Upvote this article.
If you fail to comply with these demands within 5—10 business days of receipt of this article, we reserve the right to pursue all available legal action, including but not limited to seeking damages and injunctive relief.
