Freely inspired from french content creator AlterHis Backrooms' video What if the Backrooms Existed?, which is the reason why I am here on this wiki nowadays. Make sure you watch it if you can!

On May 12, 2019, the World Cryptoscience Organization made an official announcement about the discovery of a parallel reality. With professionalism, they presented a world of thousands of pocket dimensions, which has been nicknamed "The Backrooms" by the unfortunate people who entered it accidentally by traversing reality itself. While access points were at first only discovered by nations in the enigmatic region of the Bermuda triangle, soon enough, corporations and countries alike managed to locate, stabilize, and use many gates to this realm, known as noclipping points. Reactions from citizens all across the world varied. For some, it was an escape from their harsh conditions. To others, it was a terrifying new reality that overlapped with theirs. Most of them, however, saw the potential it represented.

As time passed and after the initial reaction of the public, this new continent became a high point of interest for many countries, corporations, and even individuals. As it occured, the native beings of the Backrooms also turned their attention to their original world which started to colonize their new home.

While this new era was uncertain, people prepared themselves for a new age more uncertain than ever, as the civilizations of the Backrooms saw their world change before their eyes, for better and worse.

Welcome to a dual world made one.

Welcome to a new era.

The Frontrooms Canon

The Frontrooms canon is a collaborative canon project aiming to explore an alternative history of the Backrooms, where Earth discovered its existence, as well as enter and leave it safely.

The canon is focalized on two major themes.

First, the influence of the Backrooms on the Frontrooms, anomalous or not. This can take the form of Backrooms physical or mystical elements crossing the literal border between the two worlds, having small or big consequences for Earth's societies, being contained to a simple town, a whole country, or even the entire world. Objects being commercialized, entities invading the real world, or even phenomena occurring far beyond where they should remain are all examples of what kind of influence the Backrooms can directly have on it.

Furthermore, this influence can be more society-focused. Discovering overnight a brand new world made of thousands of singular dimensions where people have been disappearing since the dawn of mankind would shake quite a lot of the foundations of our modern society. From legal struggles between corporations to modified cultures coming back to what used to be their home, the stakes are high as Earth tries to add this new breakthrough to their established societies. But can it truly be achieved?

Secondly, the canon wishes to dive deep into the influence of the Frontrooms on the world of the Backrooms. Since the start of mankind, only a limited number of people and resources from the Frontrooms managed to accidentally pave their way to the Backrooms. Now, this realm sees the consequences of the unlimited access of Earth to its anomalous content. People founding new countries to the disappointment of the existing inhabitants, corporations privatizing levels and terraforming them for profit, or even delocalized wars are all possibilities in the legal grey area that now defines the Backrooms.

Factions of the Backrooms have been used for a rather stable status quo, between forces they knew very well. Now, their entire world is shaken to its core. Their power and reasons to exist are questioned, as they have to adapt to this new reality they can't ignore. Whether it will be friendly or violent, those interactions will make or break the many groups and alliances of the Backrooms, from humans and entities alike. Backrooms Robotics losing their monopoly, Blanche being overwhelmed by the malicious intent of some Frontrooms forces or the M.E.G. debating their new purpose can all be explored in the canon.
