Level 771… Considered the epitome of nature; an untouched paradise; a sacred domain… Until two divine beings decided to make it their own battlefield, tearing up chunks of earth and throwing them at each other. The anger of these beings was so strong that it could be felt transpiring throughout the atmosphere, creating impenetrable clouds that hid the scene of utter devastation from the eyes of the sky.

And the reason for such chaos is that the two beings in question are sworn enemies, greeting each other with a barrage of equally insignificant attacks.

On the one hand, a human sought revenge on her own species by confronting the man determined to exterminate her, while the other sought to accomplish the goal to which he had devoted his entire life.

On the other hand, the son of a flawed and evil god wanted to put an end to the atrocious acts his father had perpetrated throughout his life, while the father wanted to regain control of the kingdom he had built for himself.

Delacroix: What are you even fighting for, honestly!? The cycle never changes; the pattern always remains the same! You should know it as well as I do… Back in our native world, everywhere they went; they had to exterminate the native populations out of territories they don't even own; THEY ALWAYS HAVE TO CLAIM WHAT'S NOT THEIRS! Humanity refuses to evolve; HUMANITY IS A MISTAKE! Have you opened your eyes yet? Notice how humans are always the aggressors, ALWAYS THE INVADERS! THE GREED OF MANKIND KNOWS NO LIMITS, and the exact same pattern is reoccurring in this sacred dimension BECAUSE HUMANITY NEVER LEARNS! DUMBFOLDED BY COLLECTIVE IGNORANCE, THEY SEEK CHAOS EVERYWHERE THEY GO, LEAVING EVERYTHING BEHIND TO ROT! So give me a single reason why you would defend such a parasitic species!

Seras: What makes you better than us?? Honestly… Do you think you're some kind of liberator!? Committing genocide without any concern?? WHAT DOES MAKE YOU BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE? WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO JUDGE EVERYONE ELSE'S FATE? Admittedly, humanity isn't full of light. But the reality is that good people are always deceived by a minority of corrupt individuals who exploit everyone for their own interests! Instead… you choose the solution of simplicity by removing everyone from existence because according to YOU, EVERYONE SHOULD RECEIVE THE SAME JUDGEMENT!? Corruption was and is always the problem… AND YOU ARE THE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF CORRUPTION. You're nothing more than an egoist, delusional, and inconsiderate demon!

As the two parties kept telling each other how much they hated each other, as if an inexhaustible reserve of battle rage continued to fuel the indomitable spirit of both beings; one could think of it as a representation of the endless cycle of Nature, as the battle could go on ad infinitum…

God: Damn you… and your siblings! You're all failures; mistakes of Nature!

Evi'Ka: Should I remember that YOU created us?? You're just an impostor pretending to incarnate perfection while you are flawed in every single aspect! Just look at you… HOW DARE YOU EVEN CALL YOURSELF A GOD?

The slightest advantage was worth taking at this point. Just one advantage taken by one party; just one mistake made by one party would conclude this seemingly eternal battle.

Little did they know that one of them had a stronger will. It may not be obvious at first glance, but it becomes more and more relevant as time goes by. Indeed, one is constantly under the pressure of a, certainly, stronger god but his excessive reactions doesn't help at all. On the other side, the other is supported and treated with respect. Will this nuance prove itself decisive for the course of the battle?

Delacroix/God: I alone am worthy of controlling destiny…

Seras/Evi'Ka: You're mistaken, destiny should be marked out by your own path and nothing else…

After four hours of continuous fighting, the battle finally came to an end.

Indeed, as Father Delacroix was standing airborne to charge at Seras. A projectile suddenly hits him in the rib, like a divine arrow cutting his angelic wings. Half of his torso was disintegrated as a result of the impact, the remains of his body falling from the sky down the edge of the cliff.

Amadeus: Bullseye.

Seras: You guys all managed to come this far?

Overseer Adrian: We guessed you'd need a hand, and it looks like we were right.

Jacqueline: We've taken care of Liberation on the mountain… So he's all that's left now. Proceed as you wish, the honor is yours.

Seras approaches Father Delacroix, still alive but lying on the floor, unable to get up. She grabs him by the hair and makes him lift his head, looking into his eyes.

Seras: Checkmate, humanity prevails once more. Are you surprised?

As Father Delacroix stares at Seras, no one can truly understand what he's feeling or thinking, but one thing's for sure, he knew his end was imminent. He didn't even try to plead or justify anything; he just gave up, for the first and last time of his life.

Seras: Nothing to say, huh? So you've finally given up.

Delacroix: …

Without further ado, the Seras behead Father Delacroix and throw his head into the ocean.

Evi'Ka: So concludes our journey, our time, and life.

Seras: And I don't regret a second of it.

Seras/Evi'Ka: Farewell.

God is dead; his light erased.

No one left to speak his eulogy; no final words, no concluding statement, no point; perfect closure.

This is the only way it should have ended.
