Lets go! I loved critting this article.
Lol, but I'm all seriously, good read, as per usual with your articles.
LiminalDoctor,
This is why I love the Backrooms!
Like a diamond, the Backrooms is singular.
Like a diamond, its facets are many.
You "shine bright like a diamond," my friend and colleague.
Your friend and colleague,

Good article, but I don't get why the MEG don't just imprison The Infinite Wanderer. Why let the entity (presumably some kind of telepathic parasite) go? Who knows if it's lying or what the real purpose of its journey is. The Infinite Wanderer seems very dangerous, but that isn't reflected in the MEGs reaction to it.
It's a phenomenon, not an entity. They can't imprison them because the current Infinite Wanderer will eventually die and a new one will take over. It's not a telepathic parasite or anything. Part of my intention with the page is that the kind of questions you raise plus more spurred the MEG to constantly pursue and question the Infinite Wanderer. However, though there is much that isn't understood about the Infinite Wanderer, the MEG are either wrong or overbearing in their search for answers to questions the Infinite Wanderer has already answered but the MEG feel simply isn't enough.
I understand your point with the article. My questions don't need to be answered within the context of the article, and that what makes your article interesting.
However, your point about the MEG being unable to imprison the phenomenon's host doesn't make sense. If my understanding is correct, the MEG could keep 18's host in a cell, and then barring unnatural death (including suicide), Phenomenon 18 would be unable to continue its journey until its host dies of old age and the phenomenon chooses another host. However, the MEG is not a certain Foundation, and only has limited resources. Maybe it's not worth it to feed and care for 18's host through its whole natural lifetime, and it's better to just let it go.
If 18's host is unable to continue its journey due to imprisonment, being crippled, or old age, et cetera, what happens? (I thought about also including becoming comatose but in that case it would go to Level 404 so maybe that still counts as wandering) Does 18 wait until its host dies of old age or disease?
It's on pause until the current person dies. 18 can only move on after death. As for the MEG improsining them, they technically could but as you said, that would be a lot of resources (If the Infinite Wanderer was like 8 then that's a whole life time's worth of supply needed). Plus there's the two issues of ethical concerns (I know they're a bit less cared about in the Backrooms but having just some person trapped for the rest of their life would raise some eyebrows), and the fact not a lot would happen cause the Infinite Wanderer simply wouldn't be able to continue their journey for the time being.
Thank you for answering my questions. What I really like about your article is that the phenomenon takes place across the Backrooms, rather than just being contained to one level like most entities and phenomena are.
Thank you for the review and for asking the questions! It makes me happy to see people engaging with something I wrote
