after a month or so of hard work my silly little "isle river talks to gaius" fic turned into an actual tale. thank u to all the critters who gave me their wonderful feedback to work off of.
Gaius is a river? I thought Gaius was a sea!?!?

gaius has decided to go with the flow, and what better way to accomplish that than to be the flow/river
I'm sorry, but why are we still using etoisle's characters after all that has been said about hir? I can excuse pages that used Nostalgia Gaius and totally not E. Isle A. River before hir ban, but not this. Though I will not vote, I must state that I cannot in good conscience agree with this community's continued usage of hir characters.
Umm…the whole point of renaming her characters (mainly E. Isle) was to dissociate them with etoisle (don't know what happened with hir, but really doesn't matter to me)…
What really happened with hir anyways? I know the general idea and the crime committed but I do not the full story since nobody seems to spread awareness of the situation. Same with stretch. I'm really curious tbh

Long story. VERY VERY LONG STORY.
No one except staff at the time would know the full details because a report doc was never released for it.
The allegations, however, were very severe.
Whoa, it’s a forum signature. Ain’t that cool?
I’m waking up to ash and dust
I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust
Anywhere I can find out about it though?

This is a VERY bad reason to base your vote off of. Please can we start disassociating people from their work? Pretty please? With a cherry on top?
This is a VERY bad reason to base your vote off of.
I have not voted precisely because I knew people would judge it as a bad reason.
And this idea of disassociating the work from the author does not work for me when it's so closely associated with said author and its very negative effects on the community.
I agree to be honest. They may have done some very bad things but it doesn't change the fact that their work is excellent and in my opinion, it should be used like any other brilliant work to benefit the lore of the backrooms. The writing isn't the best of course but the ideas and concepts are and I'm very nostalgic for them. I've heard people discuss removing their work or removing the people's right to that work. I don't mind removing their ownership of the work but their concepts and ideas shouldn't be changed. I'm especially a fan of Stretch's work and I know his work has changed the backrooms forever, it is very deeply rooted in the lore of backrooms now and I would hate all that being ruined just because of the person who wrote it.

B-but I wanna be known as The Keymaster Guy
i couldn't disagree with you more, camarade.
for me, i think the use of etoisle's characters is kind of just going to be something that happens on the wiki. doing it under the name A. River is a sort of 'fuck you' to the shit ze did, but I don't think forgoing all of it is the answer. a few reasons for this:
- isle shares few qualities with the real person etoisle especially after the rename — what, they both have pink hair and use ze/hir pronouns? these are superficial.
- isle is ingrained in the lore already and is a popular character involved in big projects like the pantheon
- marking use of isle as a negative trait of the work reflects poorly on the previous work of authors back when etoisle was in good standing, e.g. nate's masterpiece eden g
- and people who want to make works based on such works
- i dislike etoisle, but I like those pages. i don't think the wiki would do good to ignore them or delete them or whatever because they're good assets in the backroom storytelling repertoire
You promised you'd take me there again some day… but you never did.
This is such an intriguing tale! I love how this shows us – the readers Gudang's Nostalgi Gaius' personality, and how River is dealing with hir situation. +1 😌✨️

AHHH HOW DIDNT I SEE THIS
glad to hear you liked ittt and how i managed to successfully pull it off
gaius lowkey kinda like glados lmao
Upvoted and read a while back and it was awesome but was much to shy to like post appreciation but i reread and its still standing strong. I absolutely love how you managed to add on to both characters through something as simple as an interaction. Its genuinely sweet watching how it unfolds and really puts things into perspective in a way given the amount of time these characters are allegedly stuck together
