Hi Crafter,
Thank you for this really long feedback, it's very helpful.
First is a little clarification in case anyone has doubts. Basically this idea itself β the whole connection between real world and the Backrooms thing β is not a new one, and to some extent a cliche. I had this idea as soon as the phenomenon category was introduced, and the contest thing made me decide to actually carry it out. I do recognise Robert, as an established author both on site and off site, writes way better than me, and in this specific case, his entry and mine could seem and maybe actually are conflict.
As a person who didn't write but read much, both regarding SCP and the Backrooms, I never thought of it as a big deal to have inconsistency on a collaborative site. By nature, a large number of people tend to have similar or conflict ideas. So when I saw Robert's contest entry was basically depicting the same phenomenon (though possibly with different interpretations), I did not drop the idea, but I did expand a bit more on the emotional part, and hope to have done it right. With that said, I know some people see consistency as an important thing and are to downvote or dislike my entry for that, and I accept that.
As for the writing quality thing, I wholeheartedly understand that you think Robert's entry is better than mine (as I said in the second paragraph), and the reason why you liked his entry better is also valid and I have nothing against that. Still, I wish to explain that I did not post this entry to compete with Robert's (I know I can't, at least now) or anyone else's; I posted this simply because I put efforts into this entry and had fun, and thought those efforts would be lost if I drop it. I don't blame anyone who decide to novote or downvote this because Robert's entry is better; it's the risk I decided to take when posting this entry.
