SandEnthusiast,
My plan was to focus on WHAT happens during no-clipping and not HOW it happens. In travel between levels, the distance involved might be incredible.
THANK YOU for the "snipe" and your thoughts.

THANK YOU for your kind words.
Hoping that this will be the definitive article on no-clipping. Despite its importance, there really isn't much detailed about it online.

Hey, quick question. Why do you use this theme all of the time in your entries? You don't need it for this one!
Kyrenzane10,
The "theme" was created by my grandson because it matches the mood of my personal website.

If so, does this entry match the mood of your personal website?
Kyrenzane10,
My personal website is about factual and fictional writing, in addition to acting as consultant to paranormal TV shows, et cetera. I proudly proclaim, on my site, that:
I discovered the "Backrooms,” the Internet's favorite non-reality, and added yet another dimension to my fiction repertoire. These writings are a growing addition to the official lore of this trending, user-generated creepypasta. According to the urban legend, individuals no-clip, or teleport, without rhyme or reason, into these Backrooms. Severed from our reality, the victims are not completely alone. All manner of bizarre monsters, referred to as "Entities," keep the wanderers company

My website also features stormy skies.

Haven’t read beyond the start yet, but the original definition of no-clipping is to have collision (clipping) disabled.
He mentions the origin of the term, and when how it was invented. He definitely does his research. He even explains how it is connected to the ideas of teleportation.

THANK YOU for your comment.
YouTube has a sweet video about the brief history of the "noclip" cheat code, from its humble origins to its current interpretation. Codex is a video series that demonstrates the effects of cheat codes in classic video games, while discussing their origin, and their impact on the culture of gaming.
The Backrooms (and no-clipping) have evolved far beyond their humble beginnings!
Isn't it wonderful?

I sure wasn't expecting the no-clipping phenomenon itself being posted today, a surprise much enhanced when I saw the author: Robert Goerman?!
I definitely had to check this out, and so did I! The following is my honest opinion and review of this take on the no-clipping phenomenon.
So far, I like how it's been presented! I'm going to admit, at first I was really taken aback: "stable and unstable no-clipping? Oh damn, there's also Erratic and No!-Clipping too!". In my mind, when I think of no-clipping, what I first think about is a simple, sudden teleportation; or unexpectedly trespassing through walls. So I thought, I wonder how this can be classified into different sections?
Well, my doubts were pretty much dissipated when my readthrough was done. It's true, no-clipping doesn't occur in the same way every time, nor does it always have equal results. In fact, it probably can have an infinity of possible manifestations impossible to thoroughly document: hence why even if it is the most experienced phenomenon, it still is the least understood.
This summary, though, felt pretty much on point to me: quite simplified, not going into very precise specifics while still allowing for a pretty good understanding on what the basics of no-clipping are. The parts that needed just a bit more detail had it just fine, never feeling too forced, and all of it while still leaving a bit of room to interpretation.
In other words, I feel like your article explains what no-clipping is in a correct way, understandable to the grand majority. When one no-clips, it can be done in a "consistent" manner, or could be a result of something unprecedented never thought of before; from specific locations to the most bizarre ones, while it could also perfectly be the very manifestation of randomness itself. Oh and, hell, who is telling us that wanderers will always be safe and fine when they are literally teleporting, there are obviously several dangers that ought to be taken into consideration.
All in all, one could end up even wondering, what are the true limits of this kind of occurrences?
I believe this article covers all of these scenarios in your own, unique style; to me, it accomplishes the function for which is meant to exist at the same time it doesn't lose its "Goerman" essence, something I very much respect.
Sure, some may be troubled. Sure, some will want it to be another way. No-clipping is a difficult phenomenon to work with.
Maybe it could have been explained in a more detailed way, having been overall longer. Maybe it could have been much more simplified, ending up becoming overall shorter. These are possibilities that will always exist.
But this is your article. This is your take on no-clipping, and I do see it, and agree with it.
Right here and right now, I have read this article, and have concluded it is one (correct) way of explaining this phenomenon. I also know I perhaps would have explained it differently, or that it is possible that every other person would have too.
But I say it again: I see your take, and can agree with it.
So, there only lasts one final question I have to ask myself. Did I enjoy reading this article?
Indeed, I did. Hence, this gains my upvote. I'll see you on other works, Mr. Goerman!
Ericote,
Wait just a minute! I got something in my eye.
I want to print this out and laminate it and tape it to the wall.
THANK YOU, Ericote, for your thoughtful and measured response. I understood, when going in, that deciding to write my article on No-clipping as a Phenomenon, that there would be feedback. Authors love feedback! Still, I did the very best that I could. Let those who can, do better.
After reading your eloquent comment, I wondered if, maybe, you should have written "No-clipping."
I will say it again. THANK YOU!
I researched the Internet, high and low, for this article. Turns out that everyone says "No-clipping," but there actually isn't very much written about it in analytical fashion. Teleportation, as a cultural reference and from a paranormal viewpoint, is something that I am very familiar with. Being retired allowed me to tackle the project 24/7. And here we are…
I am actually very proud of my efforts. The article is solid. Maybe not as fun as Phenomenon 3 - "Happy Dance." Still, I accomplished what I set out to do.
No-clipping, or teleportation, is a Backrooms and Frontrooms phenomenon. In fiction. Maybe even in fact. Let's see where this goes!

I feel like everyone has a different idea of what noclipping is, because of how many descriptions there are, and it's hard to put literally not interacting with matter into words.

I really like that the article's definition of no-clipping's mechanics are broad enough for anyone's envisioning of it to be viable (important for the different writers in the Backrooms wiki!) while still having enough thorough content to be a good article in and of itself. You struck that balance very well. Nicely done! This was a fun article to read, too. Thank you for being the one to write this important Phenomenon page!
Cosmological,
Some of you readers are so darned nice.
THANK YOU.
You captured the essence of my essence in writing this when I was writing this, and, where was I? Oh yes, I remember. Being 71 is hard! Your review is spot on.

after phenomenon 1 (ascension) got deleted because it was not noclipping, we have this which is better than i expected
hi it is me aaron92
Aaron92,
THANK YOU!
I did have that "Why-isn't-no-clipping-number-1?" skirmish in the back of my mind as I was creating Phenomenon 5. I suspected the drawbacks vs rewards diving into this project. I also knew NOT to enter this into any Phenomenon contest, as it would be unfair. If there is any Phenomenon contest, I have a couple of different ideas to work on.
I digress. I do that a lot!
So very glad that you found this "better than i expected." It means so much. Really!

I've been waiting for a page about no-clipping being a phenomenon for a damn long time, and the author being you makes me even more excited about it.
Great concept, great execution!
iccaarus,
I have made a name for myself in the weird world of the paranormal and high strangeness. I say this, not to boast, but to highlight the facts that I am not afraid to do the research and take chances. Chasing UFOs, cryptids, nonhuman beings, and ghosts has been a roller coaster ride. Bringing this fun to my friends and colleagues at the Backrooms table is like dessert. THANK YOU for making me feel that this is all wonderfully worthwhile.
(Special thanks to my grandson, Cody, who introduced me to you all and diligently turns all the right places in my articles into links!)

(tell Cody he is pretty cool :D)
Ool, I personally love the part where you mentioned both no-clipping and noclipping are correct spellings, no need to argue about the spelling from now on!
iccaarus,
Here we are again!
No-clipping and noclipping are a lot like nonhuman and non-human.
Just a matter of preference.
Spell it any way that you want, as long as you spell it F - U - N. =)
