greenlight exemption! finally! after… a contest entry and two gle collabs. heheheh. this is such a css-y page but i like what i wrote. would have made it longer, but i think a longer version of this would be grating, no?

If you wanna use the theme from this page, it's at my sandbox site. It's pretty purpose-built, but if you wanna just take the CSS for a clean blue blurry theme, I don't mind.

The theme colours are taken from the Bluebird theme by CutTheBirch, thanks.

Really nice CSS and the short story was fairly nice, I just personally wasn't particularly captivated by it. No vote for now though.

fair enough aye
the story was supposed to be minimalist — if i kept on with any more i don't know, dears than i did, i woulda become monotonous
i actually kinda edited it down a tad from what i'd initially intended
all i really wanted to make sure to include going in was that scene where the kid points out that the hills all look the same. that put shivers down my spine as i wrote it because the hills really do just repeat like that

it's not the shadow that's the problem, it's the link colour that's the real issue. i'll fix that, thanks.

It's a good tale, but I have to ask, what happens after the ending? can you give us a hint on what happened after the tale ended? (like an entity number for example)

well there are a lot of ways to interpret it. you can see it as a metaphor for some other thing, or as a literal story. i don't really mind — do whatever gets you the most out of it

if you really want, you can write a tale based on what you think would happen after this, or whatever you think it's about. they don't call it creative commons for nothin'

right i come back to you now with a more clear answer now that i'm making desolation canon. in that canon, you can enter the backrooms from the frontrooms just about anywhere, and that's what happens here. then if you don't drink almond water you undergo a process called "desolation" (anything does, like objects or entities or even buildings) which just makes things all backroomsy and weird. in humans, this is where you lose your memory and eventually become a faceling. that's what happens to the mum in the story.
