Summary:

What types of weaponry do you think exist in the Backrooms?

I know that many articles use spears, swords, and other handmade weapons. In my upcoming tale, I've got the main character using a pipe, mainly reminiscent of the ones from Dying Light 2. Though, I do know some other places, like the BRRP Discord server, allow full-on firearms and machine guns.

What are y'alls headcanons? Do you like the idea of full-auto Friday's, or do you think that we should be left back to the basics of what we can muster? Personally I'm for the pipe weaponry and makeshift spears.

The least the best. I think the Backrooms is about finding resources and trying to survive, so giving the character a shotgun would make his life very easy. But it all ultimately depends on the context or the story. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, same. I feel that Dying Light is the best example of weaponry in the Backrooms. It's mostly pipe weapons, makeshift blades stuck to wooden or metal poles, hammers, handmade spears, and bows that look like they can fall apart at any second. That's what I think the Backrooms should be filled with. In the future I'm sure that the M.E.G. or (most likely) the U.E.C. will find a way to make firearms reliable, but right now makeshift is the way to go.

the backrooms guide thing says that firearms cause the noise attracts entities
a suppresser could dampen the Nosie a bit but its still gonna be loud

a crossbow would be a balanced weapon that takes time to load is quiet and if u get metal tipped bolts can do a lot damage but ammo would be hard to make

maybe ur guy got there pipe in lvl 2 after an entity ripped it of the wall tryna eat his ass i assume its a steal or lead pipe not plastic

I agree. And that would make a firearm something like a real valuable resource too, making it dangerous just to have it. I mean, the monopolization of firearms could give the upper hand in a conflict between factions like the M.E.G with raiders. They could send scouts with improvised weapons and keep firearms just for critical situations. Or even use then without ammo to leave a strong impression or give fear to someone who wants to loot them.

I feel like if the Backrooms had firearms they'd be the shittiest things ever, like pipe shotguns and makeshift pistols. You get around no reliability, but once it does work it's brutal up close. They wouldn't be accurate, because you're not gonna be able to thread a barrel, and gunpowder is probably hard to come by.

That idea would be really interesting to survive.

Firearms could also be the buggest things ever. And it makes sense since its a gliched area where nothing works properly. Like remote control that works like a pistol if you press to turn on the TV or a chair that shoots like a shotgun if someone sits.

Probably spears, maybe a crossbow. The rule I stick by is "If you can make it with your bare hands, then it counts as a weapon in the Backrooms"

I think some people noclip in with guns (very rarely) and these become an extremely valuable resource.

I was thinking that since the blue and red soldiers in Level 49 "Trenches of Grime" each carry the Kar98 and the Enfield, that you could loot the corpses and take a gun and ammo, and potentially their helmets and uniforms.

I mean, there’s two ways that weaponry could work; Either we struggle to survive with the basic arms of baseball bats, planks, stuff like that, or the firearms could work but attract more entities. Most suppressors work as a way to shoot guns without hearing protection, cause those things are loud

being a lifelong fan of guns I would like to think they would exist in the backrooms but of course the nature of the backrooms is definitely not a DOOM/CALL of DUTY shootem up place. Nor would one last long doing such things. Evasion and tactics seem to be dominant here. Of course given the spawning supply crates on L1 with supplys randomly assorted inside Fire arms are definitely already a reality of the backrooms but I would assume they are only reliably obtained at certain places like the b.n.t.g or other outposts And not too common throughout the levels but seldom found and hoarded to certain areas. Definitely many people carry guns in the back rooms but rarely are anyone strapped like a commando.Guns definitely do more damage than a knife or spear and can penetrate armor but are unreliable in comparison and need ammo which would have to be manufactured also. Possibly guns that spawn with supplys are loaded already and ammo spawns too.Most people Hands down are using makeshift weapons like nail bats and steel pipes but won't pass up a coltm1911 or m870 shotgun given the chance. nor would I. Of course this is my opinion and what I would want the backrooms to be like so take it or leave it anyhow.

Guns are certainly a part of the backrooms wether we like it or not, people will have no-clipped in with them and some entities come equipped with them

i would say mostly primitive weapons but guns should also be cannon if they are very rare and only used by higher up groups
