Ok. I see this seems to be a relatively unpopular opinion, but I’m just gonna be flat here: I did not like this very much. I’m not someone who ducks out of long articles because of their length, as I enjoy longer stories, but this I couldn’t continue reading. Around halfway through I felt bored and uninterested. The idea and concept is definitely there, and Dave killed it on the artwork, but the writing itself feels incredibly boring and stale. The prose here was wonderful, the structure was great, and the idea was good, but the mediocre writing brought it all down. I just didn’t have the energy or interest to continue because it lacks intrigue and gives no incentive to keep reading. I just overall didn’t think this article’s writing was all that good. I love this idea though and feel like you did a good job with that. As I mentioned before, the structure of this is great, but it lacks life. It’s steak with no seasoning. I just wish I could’ve finished reading this, but I just genuinely did not have the energy or interest to keep reading through it. I was very conflicted about this vote and spent a few hours weighing between no vote and downvote. I said I wasn’t going to novote contest entries, but this article is just not worth an upvote but not low enough in quality to receive a downvote either. I’m making a one off exception and novoting this, because the prose, structure, idea, and artwork were all good, but without a good foundation of intriguing writing, it doesn’t stand firmly. For that, I’m going to no vote, and may downvote later if I change my mind.
