Hello, dear reader! I hope you've enjoyed this article.

author's note

I understand and accept the Wiki Staff consensus that this page should be posted as a joke article. I recognize the many possible and real merits of doing so. I recognize that this article is tonally and conceptually lighter than most genuine articles. I recognize that a joke article may still be considered 'canon'.

Even so, as the author and creative arbiter of this article, I find that the 'joke' connotation may affect the perception of my article in ways I do not want. Hear me clearly. I do NOT want this article to be removed from the joke section — in fact, I am in favour of it staying here. It even fits thematically, to give them a kind of 'mythical' status. Even so, I'm writing this to hopefully change some of the unwanted perceptions you might have of this article.

Firstly — I hope, dear reader, that you realize that this was not written casually or carelessly. I had this carefully put through numerous rounds of critique (thank you especially to ArgonMighty), writing and rewriting sections again and again till I was satisfied. I was careful to ensure that (as far as I am aware) the article does not clash with lore given in other articles, to create an immersive experience. I even took the liberty of introducing footnotes to explain concepts that appeared contrived or contradictory. I hope that the effort put into this will be recognized as genuine, even if the article itself is not.

Next… creatively, I'm concerned that the consensus would be that the Society does not really exist in the Backrooms. In an environment as unpredictable and incomprehensible as the Backrooms, would it be so far-fetched for a group such as this to really exist? Absurd as they may be, I sincerely hope and strongly advocate for the Society to be accepted as a real GOI in the wiki's genuine canon (of course — the only ruly 'universal' canon to exist on the wiki being general consensus). Even so, with my full blessing, this will remain a joke article, and you are free to perceive the Society however you wish.

Finally, feel free to contact me at Kai4Christ#2063 on Discord if you would like to add an Incident Log to this page, or even to feature this GOI in a genuine article. It would be my pleasure.

The prose in this is decent and the log at the end was at least somewhat entertaining; but to me, that didn't make up for how grating the excessive reddit-y internet humor was. While there was potential to make the descriptions of the boys and their antics the comedic payload of this article, it seemed instead to rely on nonstop meme-culture references as a comedic crutch — and the article was much, much weaker for it.

I feel that 'Reddit humor' was appropriate for this page… as a literal Gamer Chad society, I’m not sure what else you expected tbh LOL. Just seems like a matter of personal taste, and I can respect that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I do agree that I could’ve expanded a bit more on the description of each member. I considered adding a table to describe each member separately, but I suppose I didn’t because I thought it would be a bit repetitive. I did try to make the antics the article’s focus - that’s kind of the point of the logs. I’m interested to hear how you might have done it differently!
