Sorry that you didn't understand my page. Truth be told, it's a mish-mash of points I've wanted to make about the Wiki, both in terms of its written output and its community, AND of elements of my personal life, which I won't detail too much, but I've mentioned them in my author post.

My intent wasn't really to vent about my frustrations with that final version, even if I initially wrote the chair as a venting piece. I do criticize both liminal purists (and by that, I mean those that dislike the concept of the Wiki) and the pseudo-scientific/clinical tone that dominated throughout the life of this wiki, but the page was rewritten, the tone shifted, and what I wanted above all was to have fun with this. A big inspiration is Lucky's monologue in "Waiting for Godot", which is utterly unhinged, as well as the dialogues in Alan Resnick's "This House Has People In It".

As a final point, I will say that I have left multiple clues as to the true nature of the Chair, such as the image in the info component, and the way the Chair is talked about by the main characters, the narrator, and the clinical description.

TL;DR: Being in that community in 2022 and 2023 was soul-sucking, I take issue with the fact that we've forced ourselves to write in the clinical tone and I am sick of my issues with attention span and memory, but at the end of the day it's not that serious and we should just let things be a little more silly and have fun with writing (^.^)

I value this page far beyond any worldbuilding the wiki could have. It's absurd, it's illogical, but it's also a deep one. I honestly think this page is a masterpiece. Memes aside, the writing is peak, the themes are peak, the format is peak.

This has been haunting me for a year. Needless to say, I am relieved to finally publish it. Initially, the page was supposed to be a slight format-screw mocking the scientific tone often used in pages by writing the most outlandish, pseudo-scientific crap about one simple "truth": there is a chair in the center of a room. Anyway, I finally decided to send that draft to the trash, as I felt blocked with that first version.

This was written over the last months during short impulses of motivation and creativity, but was thought about earlier. There are themes… I think, but I'll let people try to interpret what this is all about.

A few inspirations have led me to this final version¹:

• Lucky's monologue in "Waiting for Godot" by Samuel Beckett;

• My distaste for the (now deleted) Chair Room;

• The expression "The Elephant in the room";
