This level starts interesting with the whole notepaper style and all, but… the level itself is nothing much. The whole second part wasn't needed at all. This isn't the most egregious level ever, but there are better ones.

the prose at the beginning flows poorly. it doesn't read well, isn't a very interesting style, and i don't understand why we spend so much time with this person. in addition, a problem i'm starting to notice with these meod pages is that the text conversations at the end leave an uninitiated reader going through the first 100 levels completely lost. it's referencing things i don't understand, while not adding too much plot to the level page it's on.

also, i agree that in the end, the reader is left with very little. most of the important info is covered by the halfway point, and the rest seems redundant.

-1

I mean, in the end we're left with almost nothing. Well like obviously we have the level itself, but a summative answer on what pr who created the Quarter Hub doesn't exist, and there isn't really a proper conclusion to this story. The story itself isn't all that good in the first place, with intentional yet annoying SPaG errors popping up all over the papers. The actual functions of the arcade machines are described somewhat vaguely as well, and even after rereading the sections a few times I'm having trouble seeing their actual functions.

alright article. i personally don't find any interest in the concept but that's just me, just feel like its function is too alike to the hub, only more inconvenient to utilise, with this being sprinkled with a lightly elaborated story.

not really my cup of tea, therefore i will novote this.

i do believe the article is redeemable for its sparse but effective use of code, as well as good writing however, as the writing isn't informal, nor strays into verbosity.

it mentions the group of the The Leaders, who are from Level 600. Though I can probably link that article to help.
(update, I did that in the end. Good tip! ^^)

Also, it does…? They called it Level 25 as you have to pay a quarter to use each machine, and a quarter is 25 cents

It doesn't link to 600 or say anything about it, which makes it unable to stand on its own. Plus they say the level is "Called 25 for a reason" but I never saw any such reason elaborated on.

The papers were to just set the scene! I wanted the level to feel unknown despite when it was discovered, so by showing how it was found felt like the best way to do it.

Admittedly, yes I could've explained a bit better about the arcades. but given that you can use the arcades to travel forwards and backwards, and that the entrances and exits say that you can just randomly find arcade machines in questionable nick also gives that away. Good point of note, though!

And for the end bit, the person saying "XD" is based on a real person. One of the Backrooms admins, in fact! Trust me, they've helped me develop the lore this bleeds into so I've spoken to them quite a lot. They speak exactly like this. ;)

And it's intentionally a cliffhanger, as well. This is just median content to say that "Yes, Level 600 lore is still a thing!" Because it's something really popular, and I didn't want it to seem like it was still abandoned

The papers at the beginning feel largely redundant, as they add virtually nothing to the actual article other than the guy who found it thinks there's something more going on. It's half the article for what would've been better as a sentence detailing its discovery in the actual document and nothing more. The M.E.G. documentation part feels awkward and rushed in many places, especially the "from the wanderer's current location" after it says they get teleported, which while it obviously means it's relative to where they are post-teleporting, it's not plainly stated and feels awkward to read. Additionally, it's not explained if the cabinets just appear or if they're there before. If the former is true, why aren't the Backrooms littered with abandoned arcade machines, and if it's the latter, why wasn't it found through one of them first? The ending bit especially is awkwardly written, like someone saying xD at the end of a sentence where nothing remotely funny or even lighthearted is happening, which is not a way I think anyone writes, even on a forum. It builds up to something at the end, but there's nothing for it to build up to. It just stops and doesn't even leave you anything to think about, not even a link to a continuation. The level just feels unfinished. -1 from me.
