sure! It's primarily the flat description of the environment, coupled with an audio log that reiterates information already covered in the clinical section, resulting in a lack of "takeaway" for the reader after reading the page.

(you should definitely do a rewrite if you ever get the motivation, because the idea of a backrooms equivalent of seasickness sounds like a fire concept.)

Yeah, it’s not my best piece looking back. I was just thinking about this level a few minutes ago, before seeing this comment. I’ve considered rewriting it a few times, but my interest for the backrooms has dwindled since 2022.

Can you elaborate on the nothingburger part btw?
