Are you publicly accusing our admin DivineAtlas of using AI-generated text in their levels and our policy on AI?

First off, many of our policies on AI were created before the advent of AI-generated work was commonly available. Additionally, many of our policy pages are public and are written in a neutral business register. It might be flagged as AI because it was used to train AI (after all, the information comes from somewhere) and a neutral business tone does have a tendency to sound AI, especially when ghost-written by a variety of staffers over the years.

Secondly, a public callout like this is not the way to get our attention. This… passive aggressive way of going about it just makes you look like you're causing trouble for the sake of it and are being needlessly antagonistic, not because you have actual concerns. Next time, contact our staff team directly with your concerns and we will get back to you.

I could be biased because I am a huge backrooms fan and someone who is very sensitive to the eerie effect of liminal spaces, but I seriously loved it. Even though the kane parsons canon is fundamentally VERY different from our canon, and I love this canon more (I've authored levels here), the movie NAILED the nostalgic, eerie liminal space effect better than any backrooms media I have seen. The whole time I was glued to my seat, feeling the same way I felt when I discovered this wiki for the first time.

The acting, cinematography were of phenomenal quality, and the wider implications and implicit meanings of the movie were so beautiful because of they were so psychologically disturbing and related to what makes the backrooms so unnerving. Incredibly thought provoking. These meanings were hard to capture, but those who are smart and attentive enough to understand them definitely would appreciate it. It left many questions unanswered (obviously), and eerie confusion but I think the backrooms should be that way and I'm glad they did that.

There are quite a lot of criticism on social media, and of course its fine to not like the movie, though a lot of the criticisms I found unfair. Understanding the implicit things in the movie requires a certain attentiveness and cognitive ability I think a lot of people did not have, with many people saying they were confused about the message, and did not like how many questions were unanswered. I know this is part of the point though and compliments the eerie awe the backrooms should establish. I also think if you feel no nostalgia/curiosity/disturbance when viewing liminal spaces you may not appreciate the movie as much, and you're not the target audience. Many people commented on that it was slow, and thats a criticism I do not really understand because I was shocked the movie ended when it did, if it was 3 hours long I would not have noticed. It is a slower burn horror movie (in a nice way though), I do think people may have quite a short attention span in todays age, and expected the viral AI backrooms tik tok content type of backrooms.

That are my thoughts, for those of you who have seen it, what did you think?

Basically it means that the level or page that hasn’t been updated in a while (like level 0 for some time) that would have to go under significant changes— to the point of being unrecognisable from the original —to fit the modern standards. From my understanding a lot of the older levels were pretty shallow and were just lists of entities attached to a creepy image. So anything that didn’t have nuance, if any at all.

In terms of your writing I think it’s best to look at drafts and ask yourself this: “if anybody was to link to my page, would they be able to?” Think of it this way, somebody is writing a level that is being investigated by the M.E.G and they mention a level the M.E.G previously explored, one of the levels is yours. When people click on the level out of interest you want them to be able to understand why it links to the level instead of leaving your page thinking “why is that there?” Of course you’re level isn’t always gonna be linked into some big massive lore filled story arching over many pages but it’s still good to keep that possibility in mind.

Hello, all. I'm writing this thread because I - casually involved in this community since May 2025 - have only now learned about the pedophilic nature of etoisle's ban, something which I had to learn through a user linking me, during a conversation where I had complimented etoisle's work, unaware of all this, to an informal staff member's writeup of how they were involved in the predatory Backrooms administration of etoisle.

Maybe it's my fault I didn't know beforehand, and I should have read the room or something. Maybe I should have looked into it on my own accord. Fine, I'll concede that. But frankly, I think that's a ridiculous way to learn about something which is important knowledge for any serious member of the Backrooms Wiki. By having this information available on the Clearnet it prevents people from making awkward mistakes like I did, and allows staff to show a narrative surrounding any given ban.

I think the O5Command wiki (SCP staff wiki) does a fantastic job at this, and the TS staff should model a thread (one like the thread which I linked and which, shamefully, has remained untouched for over a year!) around the way SCP staff does it, adjusting for the tighter-knit community, so that there can be a reliable source of truth regarding these banned users.

Why should it be that you have to join a Discord to even have the potential to learn about basic Backrooms Wiki user history?

I'd like to point to the sister SCP wiki again: a user of comparable status and wrongdoing, Bright, has had some notable action taken against them. Anyone who is interested in the SCP wiki is immediately and smoothly notified by a bulletin of Bright's abuse. Their pages are blanked! There's a basic writeup from staff of what went wrong that pops up on Google. Why is it that we can't match that as a site?

If we have already discussed this, why is there no public record of that?

(that last line is why i've ported this thread over here — i'd like, if someone googles etoisle ban, for this to at least have the chance to come up.)
