General Description

Sky Moray (Binomial: Gymnothorax Levitatus)1 or Entity TH-52 has an appearance of the Laced moray that can be found in the Frontroom. The difference is that they can live and swim the air but can't live in the water as regular Moray eels can.

Biology

Entity TH-5 has the appearance of the Laced moray. With a purple-bluish long body and black spots all over their skin. They have teeth shaped like hook to lock preys and strong muscle without any scales. Their unique biological quirk is that they have many mucus glands which produce secretions that retain their moisture.

Entity TH-5's Respiratory system are more akin to that of an terrestrial animal than to aquatic animal. Which use organ to exchange oxygen to carbon dioxide in a manner similar to lungs. This and the fact they lack any gills mean they can not live underwater.

The stomach of Entity TH-5 is separated into two part which have two different functions. The first part will digest any food it has consumed and the second part is used to contain Instable liquid that Entity TH-5 will digest when it need to escape from dangers3

The mucus that exceeds from the skin of Entity TH-5 has an extremely bitter taste. Which will act as a natural defense mechanism and reduce the chances that they will be hunted by other Entities.

The ability to levitate and move in the air of Entity TH-5 happen because of the special structure within its body that act as air sac. This structure is composed of gas container with controlled pressure. Which they will uses to change their levitation level however they wanted. In addition to this, the body muscles on their side can be used for movement with rhythmic twist. Which will create constant resisting force allowing the creature to swim in the air as if it were water.

Reproduction

When in their mating season,4 the female Entity TH-5 will release pheromones in the air in order to attract males in nearby vicinity. If there are more than one instance of male Entity TH-5 responding to said pheromones, they will usually display aggressive behavior to one another and might even fight to win over the female.

After mating, the female will lay around 100-200 eggs in its nest.5 The male will then guard the nest while showing aggression to any humans or entities coming nearby. While the female finds food for the male and itself.6

After most hatchlings has finished hatching, the male will evict the female out of the nest. Even though this nest is the female's nest.7

Entity TH-5's hatchlings will have a clear, small body. They will gain the ability to move right after hatching and would use this ability immediately to swim out of the nest. They are a food source to many entities including human.8 They will eat any type of scraps and will took around 9-10 months to reach maturity.

Behavior

Usually, Entity TH-5 will live in solitude, with exception to the mating season. They often hides around dark areas or in any nook and cranny of different levels and will hunt bug type entities or smaller entities for food; such as Rainbowlings.

If there are hives of Entity TH-5 nearby each other, they will display aggressive behavior and fight for territory. The loser might get drive out of the area or in some case eaten by the winner.9

Although their appearance are terrifying, Entity TH-5 is a passive entities and will only attack wanderers during the mating season in order to protect its nest.10 Usually, when threatened Entity TH-5 will start to digest their Instable liquid in its second stomach in order to clip pass said area.

Taming

Wanderer can train and tame Entity TH-5 by building familiarity when they're still a hatchling or at a reproductive age. The tamed Entity TH-5 will display less aggression and won't respond to the female pheromones. The tamed female will also not release any pheromones during their mating season.

In nature, Entity TH-5 will have the average life span at around 15–20 years. However, tamed Entity TH-5 will have an increase in life span to around 25 years and above.11

A tamed Entity TH-5 can help its owner in many ways such as carrying or moving small object, using its mouth to move said object, driving smaller entities away, reducing stress or loneliness of the wanderer, and also help warn about dangerous entities by swimming to the wanderer leg and displaying panicking behavior.


How to raise your Entity TH-5

Hello wanderers, in this guide there will be information on how you can raise these eels to make them live a long and happy life. With only 5 steps required, that is:


1. Feeding:


Entity TH-5 required nutrition is only 350 gram per week. Feeding them too much will lead to them having more weight. Which can cause mobility and health problems.

2. Caring:


Tamed Entity TH-5 will have a complaisant behavior and will required attention from its owner. Swimming to hit the chest or face of the owner might mean that they wanted to play. Such interactions will help them to become more obedient and easier to train.

3. Punishing to the appropriate extent:


If they break your furniture or are creating nuisance to you, you should punish them to the appropriate extent in order for them to learn. For example; lightly hit them on their nose, because the nose is where their nerves gathered up the most. Yelling or hurting them will only make them scared and avoid being around you.

4. Learning:


Tamed Entity TH-5 are will be more curious compared to the wild ones. They are often interested in other wanderers or inventions human made. Letting them investigate said wanderers or inventions is a good thing. Still they have to be supervised in order for them to not get hurt by or do any damage to the wanderers or inventions.

5. Accessorizing:


Every years there are around 10-12 tamed Entity TH-5 that die by the hand of humans. Usually because it was confused with those in the wild. As such you should find accessories to mark that this instance of Entity TH-5 is tamed. For example a hat, clothing, or collar which can be traded at colonies in many different levels. However, we recommend that you used the accessories from the A.C.T. or varut cult shop. Because they used materials that are suitable for Entity TH-5 and the wrong materials might make them uncomfortable and become more stressful.

Control Method

Entity TH-5 previously has been classified as an endangered entity. Before it would be reduced in both risk and severity level, after a collaborative effort between the Association of Conspiring Traders and the Backrooms Conservation Group. Currently, the Entity TH-5 control method is to be use if the population has declined and the aforementioned groups will be in charge of the entities breeding. In term of population control, usually most groups wouldn't take any action, only Issuing hunting permits for Entity TH-5 to wanderers as the law allowed. Wanderers can hunt these entities for food or trade up to 1,500 kg./1 year when necessary without hunting in the mating season. Although they're not protected, the Backrooms Conservation Group recommended that you donate any Entity TH-5 hatchlings to be raise and protected by them.

If the Entity TH-5 population increase to the point that it threatened other entities within the food chain. The population reduction procedure will be use. The Association of Conspiring Traders will send their members to reduce their population and the permit will be deemed unnecessary at these time. After the population reduction, what is left of the entities will be collected or distributed to the wanderers in need and some would even be exported to other groups.

The instances that are conserved within levels or colonies is classified as the instance that can't be hunted or in some cases, tamed. Most of these will be in the care of the Backrooms Conservation Group and any violation to the conservation procedures might result in punishment. Regardless of the offender membership status to any groups or colonies. Our method will depend on the current group standards. Please be informed accordingly.

Cooking method

The method and type of food wanderers can transform it into varies greatly such as steaming, roasting, frying, etc. The most perfered method by wanderers is to wash the mucus off with water to reduce the bitter taste, before fraying it into pieces and remove the organs out. The important step is to remove the stomach part that contains Instable liquid. Wanderers can fray as much flesh as they'd like to eat, then roasting it over fires. Entity TH-5 flesh will cook fast, as seen by the flesh turning yellow in hue, as such turning to be completely edible. The nutritional value per one serving without any seasoning has been calculated by the Association of Conspiring Traders:


As for the hatchlings, wanderers can fray and cook them immediately12. As mentioned before that the hatchlings can not secede mucus own their own yet. Although the nutritional value might not be as much as the fully grown ones.

Discovery

1994 CE: Is the first year that Entity TH-5 was discovered. At the time nonody was paying much attention to them, except when the Level TH-1 colony was founded which the local Entity TH-5 population have to be removed.

1995-1996 CE: Is the period when food were scarced. Forcing wanderers to find new ways to survive and Entity TH-5 is also one of them. Causing its population to drop to near extinction in the late 1996.

1997 CE: The Backrooms Conservation Group have classified them as nearly extinct entities.

2001 CE: In the middle of that year, Entity TH-5 have been classified as regular entities. And later in the year the Backrooms Conservation Group and the Association of Conspiring Traders have set up rules about hunting them economically:13

1. Only hunt with permits.

2. The amount one can hunt is limited to at 2,500 kg./year to support their repopulation.

3. Do not hunt any in mating season.

4. Do not hunt the ones that are undersized as stated by law. (The size one can hunt depends on the year)

5. Do not hunt them in a protected levels.

2007 CE: After the discovery of level TH-10.114 there have been Entity TH-5 farm for the sole purpose of consumption.15

2008 CE: The hunting amount is changed from 2,500 kg./year to 1,500 kg./year.16

2012 CE: Entity TH-5 has been classified as economic entities.

  • Follow the rules and regulations that the Backrooms Conservation Group has put into places.
  • Report any violation to the relevant groups.
  • Try to let the entities live naturally in the level habited in.

Don't:

  • Violate the regulations, you will be punished by the standard of the Backrooms Conservation Group and the Association of Conspiring Traders.Note from a wanderer: i haven't see any of their own people being punished. I even thought that even they themselves are violating these rules
  • Hunt them if not necessary, especially without a permit.
  • Hunt them in their mating season, this might damage their reproduction cycle.
