M.E.G. Whisper log #1
We’ve made it to The Whisper. The rumors were true.
While it is a large forest, some of the reports were off. It’s not completely wild, like Level 445. It’s more similar to a nature reserve or something. There's trail paths and a couple of outpost towers, although they aren't very common.
The worst part about it so far has been the look of the place. Everything's doused in a blurry, bright blue tint that’ll give you a terrible headache if you look around too fast. Good luck trying to set up an outpost here, guys. I doubt anyone would willingly live here.

M.E.G. Whisper log #2
Been about a week's time or so. The others are doing fine, but we’re running outta energy. We’ve mapped out about six miles in every direction now and there doesn't seem to be any significant change in the landscape, so I think this place is a one trick pony.
Haven’t seen any entities, either. It’s way quieter than -4 too, so that’s nice. We’ll start looking for exits soon. Me and the guys are getting sick of looking at all this blue.

M.E.G. Whisper log #3
Tired as shit now, but we’re gonna keep trucking along. Resting doesn't seem to help, we’ve been out of breath consistently. The headaches are too painful for us to focus on sleeping, so that's out of the picture now.
Getting rashes all over, too. I think I ran through a bad patch of plants or something, I’m not sure. We stopped mapping the place. The main goal is exiting, so we can give you a full report when we’ve done that.

M.E.G. Whisper log #4
No exit yet. Tired often. The headaches are bad. Bad.
Going to stop looking for now. Can’t muster energy to go that far. Nathan walked into the woods yesterday. Hasn’t came back.
Blue fauna signing off.
M.E.G. Whisper log #5
Had Ulysses write an after action report for level. He's most stable of us all. He can tell you what it is. Hammond is gone. Altered into one of them. We see them all over now. In the city. Don't go to the city. Do not go to the city.
Currently, I am referring to them as “The Scraped”. It’s a dumb name, I’m aware, but it’s the best I’ve come up with as of now.
The Hegemony Council wants me to terminate them, of course, but as a researcher I simply can’t bring myself to! We’ve been in this level, what, all of three days? And we stumble upon these monsters! Truly horrific beasts! They’re a great find. I’d love to know more about them.
They do vaguely resemble mankind, as do most “entities”, but the difference is quite exaggerated. Milky blind eyes, long, slimy limbs, and little to no visible mouth. They are docile, mostly, and seem to simply follow any travelers quietly.
They’re sad creatures. If they were sentient, I’d almost pity them. But yes, I believe it was the Queen's orders to exterminate them. I have four in custody currently, so we’ll be ending their putrid existence in a short amount of time. I’d just like a little more time to study…
Doctor Millard, Cartographers republic. 5/7/19.
I made it to some sort of city. I’m tired as hell now, but at least I found a spot to rest. Right now I'm hiding in an old diner.
The bigger buildings have things looking out the windows now. I saw them when I first arrived here. They just look at you from above, they don’t seem hostile. I never really got a good look at them, but they definitely aren’t human.
Maybe there's hope for me yet here, I’m not sure. So far, this place has succeeded in giving me a migraine, but I might be able to outlast it. The rumors of it being a safe haven from -4 were lies, if you were wondering.
Forgot to mention, I have rashes covering my arms now. I think it’s some allergic reaction, but I’m not sure.

Concerning the creatures of “The Whisper”, and those interfering with them, such as The Cartographers:
Medical research from members of the M.E.G., Kalag Institute, and certain Cartographer doctors, all seem to point towards these entities as being sentient in some capacity, and a direct result from the nature of The Whisper's anomalous effects.
Should you continue the vile experiments you have been performing on them, you prove how little respect you have left. They are human. You know that. If you continue to deny this fact and protect yourself from the truth, I'll gladly have it leaked that your doctors willingly experiment on former humans.
These creatures need proper treatment, not torture. See it given to them or I will be sure that your reputation sinks even lower than it already is.

Description
The Whisper is an enigmatic level in the Backrooms, often accessed through Level 445, although the exact entrance differs from individual reports. It appears to resemble a large wilderness reserve at first, with a painful blue glow persisting throughout the entire level. This has given many explorers migraines and headaches, and is increasingly hard to look at.
As one continues to explore, they will begin to experience increased exhaustion and fatigue. This is from a previously undocumented effect which appears to grow more dangerous the longer one stays in the level. More field research is recommended to locate the source of this effect.
After roughly one to two weeks of time spent in The Whisper, explorers will begin to grow rashes over the body similar to Hives disease. This marks the beginning of Whisper assimilation. Not long after this, the body will have little to no physical energy left to exert, and will begin to morph into The Sozinho.
Entities
The Sozinho are the only documented entity in The Whisper, being the final result in the assimilation process. As explorers stay in The Whisper, they will begin to morph and change into these strange, distorted creatures.
Occasionally the woods are broken up by large, abandoned cities. These are where the large majority of Sozinhos reside, and it is recommended to avoid these areas as they seem to speed up the assimilation process.
The Sozinho appear to have no facial features other than distinct white eyes. The hair, ears, and mouth will have disappeared sometime during the assimilation process. The front limbs of the affected person will grow to unnatural proportions and their legs will begin to mold into the torso.
It is believed these creatures retain the same mental capacity they did as humans, and may even keep certain memories from their human form. The full nature of the assimilation process and how it can even occur is a mystery, but it must be looked into quickly to prevent any more lost wanderers from becoming one of these creatures.
Bases, Outposts and Communities:
At one point, The M.E.G., Cartographers, and several non affiliated human settlements had been established in The Whisper. All of these outposts collapsed after researchers residing within them were affected and eventually consumed by the assimilation process.
After the report on The Sozinho was released by Dr. Shields, all groups were made aware of the hostile affects of The Whisper. It is now believed we are the only group still experimenting within The Whisper, although this is limited to occasional out-of-field experiments.
Entrances and Exits:
Entrances:
The Whisper can be entered through Level 445. Occasionally, you may find a blue, glowing tree similar to those within the aforementioned level. Noclipping into this tree will bring you to The Whisper.
Exits:
Unknown.
Thanks.
