The Legend of the Sky

My Works

(In chronological order)

Levels/Sub-Layers

The Torment | (+30) | 5 Comments

"Once the truth is known, it will not be forgotten."

The Torment was originally a page I wrote for Fandom that I then decided to transfer here after… mild encouragement. Suffice to say, it kickstarted a new adventure on the Wikidot.

Ad Astra | (+56) | 10 Comments

"Researchers have come to a broad consensus concerning the result of a collision—destruction is imminent."

Ad Astra was a page I wrote directly as a sequel to Null-06 when that page was posted. I had a little epiphany, started writing, and expanded on the Level 78 lore people now know today.

Level 133 | (+49) | 3 Comments

"There is no light at the end of the tunnel—only darkness prevails."

One of the shortest pages I’ve written—this one sought to return to the old liminal feeling in an attempt to break the “curse” that these types of pages would be generic. It's only 5 paragraphs, but each one tries to evoke something.

Entities

Entity 503 - "Volts" | (+33) | 5 Comments

"It appears as though the Volts have inherited Koko's "PRS_3_AGY" personality, which would explain their reckless destruction habits."

I ultimately got the idea to do this after realizing how empty the scrapyard levels were entity-wise. Suffice to say, it expanded into something much more than just a scrapyard-terrorizing mech. It probably broke a bit of existing lore too.

Tales

Project Gaia | (+24) | 9 Comments

"FAULKNER's machine was proven to reliably materialize a structure resembling a yellow office building."

As my Whatifcon 2022 submission, Project Gaia focuses on the alternate universe where the Backrooms were created by the U.S. government. This was also originally written on the Fandom, but I found an opportunity to recycle it for this contest.

Archetypal Criticism | (+17) | 1 Comments

"Before you proudly dismiss our movement by fallaciously claiming that our letter falls victim to the stereotypical "M.E.G.-hating" archetype, perhaps you should contemplate the reasons why so many groups criticize the same aspects of the M.E.G.'s operations."

Expansion of Level 503 lore with The Infestation. It takes the generic villain trope outlined in that page and hammers in another trope — hating the M.E.G. Call it overused and overdone, but that's kind of the point.

Objects

Object 84 | (+26) | 4 Comments

"We bombard people with sensation. That substitutes for thinking."

Inspired by Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, George Orwell’s 1984, Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, and Anthony Doerr’s All the Light We Cannot See—Object 84 takes from the manipulation and theatrics of radio and television propaganda. A supplementary document was also added for people to put down their own commercials.

People of Interest

The Augur | (+23) | 5 Comments

"I don't cause deaths… I merely predict them."

The idea of The Augur came to me during a random conversation and relies on the question people have been asking for centuries: "Are psychics shams?" This one is not a sham, but maybe it would be better for the wanderers he meets if he was one…

Joke Entries

Ad Astronaut | (+22) | 8 Comments

"What you know about rolling down in the deep?"

The ambiguous ending of Ad Astra left something to be desired—one person in particular called it a missed opportunity to make a joke about "Astronaut in the Ocean," so this is naturally the follow-up. I apologize in advance.
