The History of the Order

Recently, a batch of files were uploaded to the Database via unknown means. The contents of these files were diaries written by an unknown author detailing a dystopian future, where Level 11 became the site of survival in the year 2095. As mentioned prior, it is unknown how this time distortion occurred. Hoaxing is out of the question, as the properties of the files show them to be last edited on July 4th, 2095.

11^th of May, 2095 (yeah, it's the 11th.)

It's quite nice out today. Might go for a walk.

So it's… let's see I think it's the 11^th of May, 2095. Just another day on Level 11. This morning the loudspeakers blared louder than how they have for the past few months. We quickly realized why when the Western Wall was breached and Hounds rolled in. Luckily the military pushed them back, but we still lost around three hundred people. The cries carried on for miles.

We're running out of burial ground. I'd know as a gravedigger. We had to turn the abandoned sector into a body yard, and let's just say it hasn't smelled too well these past three days. Not like we really have a choice. I keep telling the Order that we need to throw the bodies somewhere else. My workers have gotten sick by walking into that corpse mountain, and they don't listen. They threaten me with reprimands and exile. We just have to shut up and accept it, even if it kills us.

Taxes have also gotten higher. The Order keeps jacking them up to try and get the citizens to join the military. Joining it "frees you of taxes," they say. Whole load of horseshit, if you ask me.

Enough of the normal, though. Some odd things have been happening lately. Usually the military deploys at nights, since nighttime rotation started happening in Level 11 a few years ago, but for the past week they haven't gone anywhere. There needs to be protection from the entities attacking the walls every day. We can't fight them all on our own, 'cause everyone is either sick, thin, or too fat to fight.

Guess I'll just have to keep pushing on to the next day.

29^th of May, 2095

Something is wrong. The General of the military has just gone missing, along with a good portion of our armed forces. I don't like this, not one bit.

The Order put a pretty penny on his head for anyone who finds him, and people are starting to get aggravated. Why couldn't have they used these materials for something other than bounties? This will motivate us, sure, but it's going to make people angry that this is what you use our taxes for. I can hear yells in the streets from my 10th floor apartment as I type this, and it's getting louder.

I'm starting to get scared. Why did the General and his men leave? Did they see something wrong in the Order? We all see something wrong, sure, but… but they're literally our fighting force! The entities won't let up, and we really need protection.

Where did they go?

17^th of June, 2095

I haven't written here for a while, and there's a good reason.

There has been too much going down recently. We can all tell that the Order is crumbling, but they're good at hiding it. The higher-ups are beginning to act with more haste, arresting random people and interrogating them for days on end. When they're released they fight back, and riots almost break out every day. People are getting fed up, but they can't do much when the Order starts killing people to prove a point. Fucking barbaric, I tell you.

The entity attacks are just getting worse and worse. Everyone can hear the roars of Howlers, the growls of Skin-Stealers, and the flaps of Deathmoths. They'll fly in sometimes and pick up citizens, carrying them off like an eagle does to its prey. It's terrifying.

We don't know what we're going to do anymore. Everyone is on edge, and it feels like the entire world will blow soon.

I really hope that doesn't happen.

It's all burning down

It happened it happened. Everything is fucking falling apart.

The Order fell three hours ago, and the walls are all being destroyed. There are so many screams. So many of them.

If only they had stayed. If those greedy bastards had stayed maybe we would have been able to defend against the horde! We still haven't figured out how to get Lady Blanche's help. The Dark Sovereign died hours ago. His crown shattered on the ground. We haven't heard from Tom Von Haderach and his scouting party, Spec is all but gone, and logistics headed by Hanc Insitus have fallen. We can't contact them anymore.

My husband is… he's… he died an hour ago protecting me. I couldn't help him, not with my derilict old shovel. He fought all he could, and I tried to patch his wounds, but… god, I couldn't stop the bleeding. I'm a gravedigger, not a field medic!

Please, whatever is still here to protect us, give us hope. Give us a shield or a sign of help. I don't want to give up. I want to keep living, even if it's in this hellscape. I want to have humanity survive, because who knows? Maybe everyone in The Frontrooms is dead! Maybe we're the last humans alive! There are so many questions but I'm panicking too much to keep going.
