Level -10 is an enigmatic level of the Backrooms. It takes the visual appearance of a playground in a vague permanent state of darkness surrounded by a deep forest.
Description:
Picture of a park in Level -10.
Level -10 is a spatial dimension composed of an infinite amount of self-similar versions of the level's playground, distributed with extreme precision and consistency throughout the level. Any groups of individuals who have managed to enter will each be automatically separated into discrete and arbitrary locations within Level -10. The potential scenario of a reunion amongst group members is impractical due to the unnatural extent and magnitude that this level holds. Tests conducted have also shown that the environment has a unique property where it nullifies and insulates any electromagnetic wavelength longer than the visible spectrum, hindering digital communication.
There are numerous playgrounds interconnected with other local parks by narrow trails and gravel paths winding through the forest, giving them the singular route for exploration. However, due to the wide dispersal of these playgrounds, trails often extend for over 1 kilometre (~0.6 miles). Any external illumination source has been observed to malfunction or fail in the deeper sections of the woods, with light only reflecting off from the path. External noises in these forests should not be explored, due to the high entity count. It is crucial to be stealthy and follow standard protocols to ensure definite survival in this scenario.
Several documentations have demonstrated that the amount of entities found on Level -10 is high, with most primarily lurking in the deep forest boundaries of this level. The screeches and rustling of creatures can often be distinctively heard when wandering through a trail connected between two parks. If one decides to traverse different playgrounds via the pathway, then it is advised to wield a weapon in case of encountering an entity. Additionally, witnesses have reported a dark human-like silhouette walking by crossroads, but these sightings are commonly dismissed as a type of hallucination.
Parks on Level -10 often contain identical old envelopes with encased images displaying a similar playground but in the Frontrooms. Each envelope has a unique, encrypted message on the back. Only a few messages have been successfully decrypted:
"Remember that person who always watched you behind the trees?"
"Remember his old cabin, where he used to watch you?"
"He is still watching you there."
"He is coming."
"He is behind you."
"???"
These messages’ context, purpose, and references remain unknown. There is still work to be done on translating the ciphertext on the backside of the images.
Rogue Cabins:
Rogue Cabins refer to the seemingly man-made, abandoned structures occasionally found when walking past a dead-end of a trail further into the forest. These buildings resemble small wooden cabins separated from the rest of the level. They have often been seen to exhibit certain anomalies where they disappear and re-appear out of sight, with reasons being poorly understood. The appearance and features of the interior can't be determined as there are no records or images of the inside; due to this, attempts to enter these cabins are heavily disadvised by M.E.G regiments.
It is often theorized that these cabins lie within a deep sub-layer of Level -10 because of the sheer difficulty backtracking after reaching its locality. Attempting to retrace footsteps has been unsuccessful due to the non-euclidean space of the potential sub-layer. It is necessary to locate a red arrow on the ground pointing to a playground to return to Level -10.
Bases, Outposts, and Communities
Since the discovery, there have been no sightings of any community present within Level -10, possibly due to the separation of many unions and groups.
Entrances and Exits:
Entrances:
The entrance to this level can be achieved by jumping off a quadrate void in Level 9 which will ultimately lead to Level -10.
Exits:
The singular authorized exit can be found by going left after meeting with any dead-end of a trail. This action will often lead to Level -8
