Level 707 is the 708th level of the Backrooms.

Description:

Level 707 is a non-linear space capable of altering its physical structure. The conversions are of no particular correlation; the only common element of which is the moderate rain that takes place everywhere and continuously. Reports indicate that the conversion depends upon the specific person that enters the level, to whom we refer as the observer, and their experiences during their time outside of the Backrooms. An observer who was born in the Backrooms or has no Frontrooms memories is likely to witness a boundless grassland in the nighttime, whilst an observer with the said memories will find themselves in familiar outdoor surroundings originating from the Frontrooms, where, in often cases, the observer witnessed scenes of rain. The temperature and humidity of Level 707 are to change accordingly.

Another peculiarity of Level 707 is the music broadcast in it, with its volume constant and source unknown. The music varies as well. Observers will hear a piece of Frontrooms plain music or song related to rain, the time of release of which is no later than their entry of the Backrooms, with the exception that an observer unable to appreciate music is to hear a random pianistic white noise that somehow evokes reminiscence.

I Can't Stand the Rain Sung by Ann Peebles. As the song was 'kind of niche'[sic], the observer failed to recall further details and attempts to confirm the publishing year of the song or the album were not successful. A nighttime street corner in Los Angeles, with no entities in sight. The observer entered the Backrooms during the past century. The first reported case since the M.E.G. was founded. The observer vaguely remembers waiting for his ex-boyfriend at a similar street corner despite the rain. He was using a Walkman, and thus it was likely that he was listening to the very song.
Winter Rain in Taipei1 The original version by Taiwanese singer Tingwei Meng2, included in her 1992 album of the same name. A bustling downtown area of Taipei that appeared to be set in the afternoon. Facelings influenced by The 11 Effect could be seen, but any attempt to interact with them was ignored during the obersever's stay. The observer entered the Backrooms in Nanjing in the 2000s. The observer was born in Taipei and moved to Nanjing for work when they were young. The line 'Do not cry alone in the strange land' indicates that the level could be perceptive of the memories and/or experiences of the observer.
Solid Rain Theme The same music as in the 2015 film Le tout nouveau testament. The title of the music was recognised by a personnel familar with the film after hearing the observer hum the tune she heard. The observer could not identify her location. She described her surroundings as a nighttime valley, which was later inferred to be a film scene. The observer fell asleep in the cinema while she was watching the film alone and found herself in Level 1 after waking up. This case confirms that the level is perceptive of the memories and/or experiences of the observer.
Forever at Your Feet The original version by American singer Oh Susanna, included in her 2001 album Sleepy Little Sailor. Next to a telephone booth located in Yorkshire. The observer entered the Backrooms in 2002. The record was initially deemed an important exception because the song itself was not related to rain3. However, an alternative version of the song with background rain sound added was included in the album.

Wanderers entering Level 707 at the same time will fail to meet each other. This peculiarity is different from Level 601, in that they are to find themselves in disparate and non-overlapping spaces. Topological analysis of this level suggests that the reason behind this phenomenon is inexplainable with modern physics.

Oftentimes, observers will experience light nostalgia and delight while listening to the music. These feelings are considered non-anomalous and beneficial overall.

It is possible that observers may die at this level under extreme circumstances. Nevertheless, instead of demise, they are going to no-clip into other levels. For further information, please refer to the Entrances And Exits section.

Bases, Outposts and Communities:

As illustrated in the Description section, it is impossible to set up resident areas of any kind due to the non-linearity of Level 707.

Entrances And Exits

Entrances:

  • There is a relatively high possibility that one may no-clip into Level 707 after waking up from either sleep or coma in any other level related to water and/or rain. This has been listed as a recommended approach to depart from high-risk levels that possess the said peculiarities and do not cause immediate death.
  • Singing along, clapping hands and/or tapping one's foot wherever there is music has a chance to bring them to this level the next time they wake up from sleep. This probably indicates that Level 707 is capable of identifying percipients of music.

Exits:

  • By the end of the music, the observer is to no-clip out of Level 707 and enter another level of low survival difficulty. Isolated cases of entry suggest that sometimes the music broadcast may include fragments that its Frontrooms version does not include.
  • Falling asleep and experiencing coma or death (suicide excluded) will make one no-clip into a CD shop set in Level 11 when you wake up. Strangely enough, the shop itself is not a fixed entrance to Level 707.

Notes: Level 707 has been categorised as an important research project due to its ability to transport observers to safe levels. Rumours suggest that this level is probably capable of leading observers out of the Backrooms and returning them home. Interviews with wanderers who entered the Backrooms during the 1960~1970s add weight to this theory.
