So, I'm sitting here, with a description that's barely got anything and a note telling me to "Fix it." Assholes upstairs really can't make it any harder for us can they? Oh well, let's see what we got.

Under further analysis by M.E.G. operatives, the fog itself appears to be a collection of microorganisms. When inhaled, they travel through the nose and to the amygdala, evoking an extreme response of guilt and sadness. This is theorized to be the reason that only people undergoing loss can enter this level. However, why this happens is unknown we only let you in to see us again.

This is theorized to be the reason that only people undergoing loss can enter this level. However, why this happens is unknown we only let you in to see us again. M.E.G. operatives have also seen an unknown type of entity dig itself out of the graves. Physically, these entities resemble humans in advanced stages of decay, and on closer inspection some were even recognized as wanderers who had died in the Backrooms. Upon escaping the graves, however, these entities run toward and eventually enter the forest, despite the level being theoretically infinite. The open graves have also begun exhibiting a psychological effect that compels people to crawl inside. Wanderers who crawl inside are to be considered lost still your friends and should not be rescued you'll leave them behind like that?.

Holy shit, that effect is a kick and a half. I've been trained to resist psychological hazards and I can still
barely tell that there's something wrong. Hell, even the guys who wrote it originally forgot it could edit the article. That thing has gotten really good at covering up its tracks. Good thing they figured out that fix. There's just one thing that's been sticking out to me though. These revisions get worse and worse as they go, but the thing just cuts out random pointless information. Hell, it can barely self-censor its editing effects, much less its harmful ones. We're supposed to believe that this ancient being that has been manipulating humans since the first ones ended up here can't even fuck with the database that well? Something's up here, and hell, going on a wild goose chase is better than being stuck in a chair writing. I'm gonna see if I can get my hands on that journal.
[START TRANSCRIPT]
Day 1: I figured I'd keep a journal detailing my descent into
Level 8, in case I learn something new and the M.E.G. want to have a look. So far, it's been surprisingly peaceful, though I suspect that won't last.
Day 1?: What the hell just happened? I slipped or fell or tripped or something and fell really far and I thought it was the end for me and it hurt like hell but I'm fine now and now I ended up inside of…something? It feels wooden and the air pressure here is weird. Is this another level? I'll keep writing once I stop shaking.
Day 2? Maybe?: Alright, I've composed myself a bit. There is enough space for me to write slightly and I was able to turn on my lamp but I'm not sure how long it'll last me. I appear to be inside a tight wooden box, maybe it's a coffin? I'm not sure how to get out but once I'm able to shimmy my supply pack over I'll have some water and I'll see if I can dig out.
Day ?: Man, I don't even know how long I've been in here. Sleep comes and goes randomly, and thankfully I still have supplies, but, are they worried about me? Back home? Wait, what the hell am I thinking? Why did I think home? I'm in here, in the Backrooms. There is no home. But why do I remember home so well?
Day: Holy shit, I heard people outside. I tried to scream for them but they couldn't hear me. I couldn't get the lid off no matter how hard I tried. Shit shit shit, am I gonna die so close to everyone else? Why am I here? Man, this is like that time back when Mark Back Back when Mark Back when Mark Mark?
Irrelevant. It's them. It's all of us. From that road trip to the Canyon, back in '89. It's Mark and Casey and…and it's…it's her. They didn't die in the crash, they just ended up here, and hang on I need to get out I have to get out I have to join them i have to join them i have to [TEXT ILLEGIBLE]
No. Oh. Oh no. I. I get it. I see now. It's all a lie. Don't listen to the voices. They are not your friends. They are not your family. They are a lie. A lie made up by the thing that lives here. And it's not doing this because it needs to, to survive. There would be some comfort in that, huh? That nature created it to instinctually to that to us. But no. There's no comfort here. Not anymore. It's doing this because it wants to. And it's won with me. I can hear them already. I'll join them. Soon. To anyone reading this, it's too fucking late. Don't try to find an exit. It's stuck here, for now at least, but it can piggyback off our brains. The more you learn, the worse it becomes. People passing through might, but if you've read up to here, you're dead. Sorry if that bothers you. Anyway, I'm gonna find the optimal position to cry in.
Jenna?
[END TRANSCRIPT]
That was a mistake. I think I'm gonna be sick. That poor person. And, I think I see now. There's no fixing it. It's so goddamn good at manipulating people. So why can't it manipulate the database? God, it really is that simple, isn't it? The entity is old. People ending up here has been around since, well, people. It's had time. It's perfected its technique on us. It knows exactly what fucking makes us tick, and it does it flawlessly. But, it needs time. People are old, it is old, but, the database? All this technology? That's new. But, it adapted to people. It'll adapt here too, and it'll crush us underneath its boot like ants. I'm only hoping it'll figure it out after I'm long dead. It's better if nobody knows about this. Ignorance is bliss, as they say. I've got an article to write.

Level 193 is the 194th Level of the Backrooms.
Description
The level consists a graveyard stretching across an infinite plane, with an unreachable forest surrounding its perimeter. It is blanketed in a non-obstructing mist. Level 193 is filled with unmarked graves, each 2 meters apart. Occasionally, there are empty graves which appear as though dug open from the inside. Open graves will sometimes have various scattered debris and heavily used items around them. Each undamaged grave contains a corpse, and under no circumstances should one disturb the soil. The level or an entity living within it appears to be sentient, and has the ability to influence the database with false information about itself. However, this only extends to text-based entries. To prevent this, data is written down then transcribed and uploaded as image form. Although this causes formatting and database issues, this is regarded as a positive effect as the entity's file altering is too powerful.
Entities
Under further analysis by M.E.G. operatives, the fog itself appears to be a collection of microorganisms. When inhaled, they travel through the nose and to the amygdala, evoking an extreme response of guilt and sadness. This is theorized to be the reason that only people undergoing loss can enter this level. The fog or, more likely, the entity controlling the fog seems to enjoy torturing people by persuading them that their loved ones are alive. This is used to distract victims and lure them into the graves to slowly kill them. M.E.G. operatives have also seen an unknown type of entity dig itself out of the graves. Wanderers who crawl inside are to be considered lost and should not be rescued.
