Somewhere through the barks and chirping bouncing off the yellow-lit walls of a laminate building, the scratching melody of an old record player catches your attention. The looping track sounds worn but strangely familiar, like the draw of a childhood nursery rhyme you barely remember.

Please, come in. Oh — and close the door behind you… it's quite a zoo out there.

Some clearer mentions of the parent level would have been appreciated, as I missed a lot of slight references without a link or something more present.

Not smashing the concept on the reader either of course, it's still poetry after all, but something more present still. On a first read, it's hard to justify why this isn't just a random tale, how it is linked to the animal gimmick of the level, and how the page serves as a way to temporarely get some rest far from them. But here it screams general backrooms place too much, since the level isn't the only one to be filled with wildlife.

Don't get me wrong, I love some good poetry, but imo, this doesn't really do anything? Like, why this isn't a tale and is a room is up in the air. There's no real reason it couldn't be and because this doesn't have anything that'd make it a room exactly. If this were a tale, easy +1, but as it stands ehh.

As praetor said as well, there's also a lack of really any mention of the original concept.
