I'm asking because I'm planning to make a Level that is a reliable source of firearms for groups like the M.E.G, but I'm not sure if there already is.
I remember that in Level 75, they mention that the gallium they harvest is used in stuff like weapons, so I assume that that's at least one source of the guns.
I assume that the B.N.T.G. has a pretty robust manufacturing operation, considering they're able to produce Deuclidators at the rate that they do.
Backrooms Robotics also probably has a big manufacturing workforce given the kind of stuff they mass produce (Lamps, refinement of G9hS54 into Red Light White Light, etc.), so they could probably do weapons if they wanted.
On the page for Tournesol, it mentions that the U.E.C. uses (or used) the Level for mass production of weapons, although given the nature of the U.E.C., and context given in the offset, I don't think that they were sharing those things.
There's also the possibility that people use Organiguns, but like, are we really accepting that the M.E.G. is standardizing the use of those things? I love Organiguns, but the idea that the M.E.G. would make them standard-issue is too out there for me.
This is just what I remember, so I may be forgetting something.
"By excluding the human factor, aren't we risking the kind of personal detachment from a history that may, heaven forbid, lead us to one day repeat it? And in the end, isn't the human factor the only true difference between us and the enemy we now refer to as 'the living dead'?" -Max Brooks, from World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, written by Max Brooks
Well, in the Kane Pixels universe, the Async Research team has access to a (I'm guessing?) No-Clip portal (Unsure if that's the right word) that they can use to travel from Level 0 to The Frontrooms. So if in some AU/Canon where the M.E.G has access to something like that, I would imagine they get firearms from registered sellers just like how others could.
Additionally, some wanderers who've fallen in could've been in possession of a firearm at the time of no-clipping, so that's always a possibility.
Well, if you know how they work, it's not all that hard to build a simple firearm(like a slamfire pipe shotgun), and with enough practice and/or knowledge as well as some machining tools I'm sure producing significant amounts of high quality firearms would not be infeasible.
Now, ammo could be a problem, but firesalt could be used both as propellant and as primer. It'd probably require a good bit of experimentation to get loadings right. Downside of firesalt is that it wouldn't work above 47C which means your gun either needs to just accept heat limitations or be an open bolt1 weapon which puts screws with accuracy.
A concern with using firesalt as propellant is that it could explode if you drop a bullet or magazine, which would be bad.
