ripoff? the sigma-10 theme is creative commons. and the theme this site uses is also based on an scp theme, black highlighter. almost all of this site's tech is based on scp's tech. nothing new.

With the main site theme (liminal) I feel like it has been tweaked enough to be given its own personality. I think it's ok that our site has taken several stuff from the SCP site and I know that we owe them a lot.
But
I also think we should strive to differentiate our site from the SCP wiki as much as we can. We are the Backrooms, a completely different writing community. The only similarity both wikis have is, well, the fact that they are wikis, and that the former served as an inspiration for the latter (not concept wise but for the idea of being a wiki and such). Yet people have always and will continue to compare them both helplessly.
I'd honestly like to someday see ourselves as something as self-sustainable as the SCP wiki is, the Backrooms concept has the potential to achieve so. But the vibes I'm getting so far is that we are just continuing to get more and more attached.
I'm personally not a fan of that. And as I said, the liminal theme gives me the impression that it has now become its own thing. With this though, I can't say the same. I instantly recognised where this theme came from, which wouldn't have happened with the liminal theme had you not pointed it out.
As I do not like the direction we are taking, I'd honestly just downvote the page. But I have to admit the css looks clean so would be a bit unfair for you and your effort. Just know that was my impression, might change to a downvote upon further consideration.
i made almost all the same edits to this theme as Liminal has made to Black Highlighter. what's your case for this not having its own identity — the header not being centered??
this is NOT meant to make the site more like scp, but sigma-9 is just as fair enough of a theme base as black highlighter or BASALT to base the theme off of. it looks unique, just as must as Liminal does anyway (which I don't even think is that much).
i agree with you that the site shouldn't be attached to scp in any meaningful way — i'm honestly confused as to how you think that's the direction we're going in. did you see the site a few years ago? we had entity 1 proposals for pete's sake

Dude this theme is the SCP wiki main theme. It's the face of the SCP wiki. I didn't even know about black highlighter until now. Like, why did you have to choose this theme specifically. Anything else I'm fine but this one in particular screams SCP to my face. That's what I honestly felt.
Regarding the direction thing, just look at nuliminal man. Not only there still are several SCP logos all around it (not even the sidebar thing, just look at the search button that looks like a magnifiying glass, and let's not talk about what you said of not changing the mobile one for the account collapsible cause you thought it was "cute") but I don't know, its more "high-tech looking" elements also give me the vibe.
That's it.
First of all, i chose this theme since it's very similar to the base wikidot theme — it's meant to be an example of an acceptable use of component:css-revert, and a base for more simplistic themes (themes that don't want flashy bhl elements) to work off of. This site looking like scp but edited with a few set tweaks has been how it's looked this whole time — actually, it started off by just straight stealing Black Highlightyear theme from scp before it was edited to be backroomsy.
second of all, with nuliminal, the scp logos are tiny and i've been removing them pretty steadily. all of them being gone WASN'T a criterion for us releasing the new theme, we'd spend nearly a year on it so we wanted to get it out, but almost all page bottom options that had scp references are replaced with backrooms logos, and the sidebar scp logos are gone, and the search magnifying glass' little scp ridges are so tiny and unnoticeable that i never even noticed them until they were pointed out to me (unless your comment is just that it shouldn't look like a magnifying glass and then— that's literally the symbol for searching across the entire web)
idk what you mean by high-tech looking elements of the theme, but they're also on wanderer's library lmao. and this site is still, even though it isn't the m.e.g.'s database anymore and it's certainly not the scp foundation database, it is still a database.
edit: or, well, it's generally construed to be a database, a lot of pages refer to it as either the m.e.g. database or the general public database. and and and anyway you are looking at it through the lens of a wiki. almost all visual effects in the theme are just less janky looking versions of effects that were in the old version of the theme anywho

The issues with Sigma-9 still exist in this theme, unfortunately.
- Minus sign in rating module is off-center by a lot (but the plus sign is nicely centered).
- Vertical space between the page options is inconsistent between rows (when you click + Options, the third row of options is closer to the second row of options than the first row of options).
- Tabulation when there is more than one row does not look good.
- Licensing box at the bottom is weird when it uses the page background, considering that there’s a row above it containing other information that uses a different background from the page.
- Spacing for options in the user profile (Profile page, Write private message, Add to contacts, etc.) is equivalent to a whitespace character, so there’s nothing really separating the options from each other.
Not necessarily a bad thing btw—you did what you could.
Whoa, it’s a forum signature. Ain’t that cool?
I’m waking up to ash and dust
I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust
it's a digital-theme, it's meant to give the user an old web aesthetic — i think some of these things do just go with that (though some don't, i might fix a few)
in particular i won't be fixing the minus sign — the look of it just being plain text there is a part of the aesthetic i don't want to compromise.
licensing box at the bottom using the page background looks kind of fine to me but i might end up changing it
i won't change the vertical space on the page options, it's meant to separate it into two separate sections

Immediately fell in love with this liminal s10
when stars smile at the moon / wonder how it looks in your eyes
just dialing your number / failed to press the last two - PRAYING IN MY HEART:
when the moon reaches stars / if you hold me tight
feel your heart beat so close - WOULD THIS LAST LONG?…
This reminds me of one of our themes which also names Liminal Sigma, but more liminal and less sigma than this one. It's quite interesting to see how themes inspired by a same idea differs.
And +1 for sure. All praise be to Sigma-9 10
they are a bit similar, but that sigma liminal theme is more trying to make liminal into sigma-9 than trying to make sigma-9 into liminal

Umm…It's very broken for me…I have to downvote.

what browser is this on? I tested it on many, and the CSS is simple — it should work

Google Chrome.
Looks normal on this computer, so it may have just been the Chromebook I was using.
