Level 14, or Paradise, is one of the strangest levels out there, in my personal opinion. It is one of the few to have a special class, class paradise, and the entry is from a first-person narrative. I also believe that the entire entry has been tampered with by something (it is quite obvious when looking at the entry in the database). I have a theory that may explain this. I call it:
The level 14 effect
The level 14 effect is a little complicated-so this might take a while. The level itself is a little too…perfect. In addition to that, the colors are very extreme, almost as if they are not real. Now, while it isn't unheard of for levels to be strangely colored-this level in particular rubs me the wrong way palette wise. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, is some shade of purple or red-a lot like the crimson forest. However, the thing that strikes out the most to me personally is the moon-the bright, shining, beautiful crimson moon. The moons' light shines across the entire level, and the light seems…unnatural.
Part One: The moon is the cause
I believe the entire level is being disguised by the moons' light. I think the level looks like something else entirely-however, the moons' special properties make it look like a serene, lush, crimson forest of unending perfection. We will never know what this level really looks like-but we can be pretty sure that it doesn't look like a paradise. In addition to this, I believe the moon causes people to never want to leave the level, and sometimes can even make people try and make others fall under the effect as well.
Part two: symptoms of the Level 14 Effect
I believe a common sign of the level 14 effect early on is the voices. I imagine that voices would start to speak in your head, and they would say things like "stay in here, it's beautiful"and,"please stay in paradise with us". If you stay in the level too long, then I'm guessing one of two things happen to you.
1. You become overwhelmed with the effects of paradise and commit suicide.
2. You are chosen (somehow) by the moon to recruit others.
Part 3: Level 19's Connection
Despite what the wiki may say-I believe that level 14, does, in fact, have an accessible exit. It has to do with level 19-the attic/crawlspace. One of the features of Level 19 is a strange, warm glow that attracts wanderers…much like the effects of level 14. I think these two levels are directly connected with each other-and that level 19 serves as a one way exit to level 14 (meaning once you exit, you can't enter the same way). Level 19's' glow is due to the level being partially under the level 14 effect-but since it is not bathed in the crimson moons' red glow-it only has the Orange Glow effect. Somewhere in level 14 , there has to be a small little hole that leads to 19. at least-that's what I think. I want to know what you all think about this theory-or if there is something that I missed that I should add.
