The visual effects really add a lot to the BNTG theme of this object. Though the writing wasn’t the most intriguing (diction felt slightly simplistic at times, being a series of simple sentences that would sometimes be a little “blocky,” so to speak), I do find that the rest of the execution, both in its visual elements and overall world immersion, does (to some extent) make up for the deficiency in writing.

It at least kept me hooked enough to continue reading, even if the first page didn’t feel really enticing.

However, I will say my main gripe about this page is the clichéness. The final offset, in my opinion, doesn’t add much—it feels more like an epilogue to the main narrative. This is a classic case of the “BNTG promotes something but it ends up being harmful” trope. The incidents in Level 10 are vaguely described and briefly glossed over, when in my opinion, they should feel more like the main focus. Your exposition building up to this “safety concern” is longer than the actual description of the “safety concern.” And the exposition doesn’t do much either, especially the interview log—this feels like a rehash of information we’ve received from the first entry and the emails. Emails don’t add much, and “we must hold the BNTG accountable” comment at the end just feels off, because harmful scandals like this are exactly what the BNTG keeps getting away with,

TL;DR: Cheesy, but somewhat formidable. Nice visuals, but subpar writing.

That said, I do believe you miss the point of the line "we must hold the BNTG accountable". The point of that line is to show something about the M.E.G., not the B.N.T.G. - that the M.E.G. doesn't recognise their mistakes in their handling of the situation.

If you look back, you can see that a lot of the fault was theirs, but they put all of the blame onto the B.N.T.G.

(also yeah the bit about the incident on Level 10 is setup for a tale it shoulda been way longer,,, (edit: if i do end up writing it though, it'd probably just be edited in here instead of put somewhere else. this still needs that sort of a something, i think))

definitely a great object, incorporating a video too!

just one issue: the archived bntg pages take a bit of time to load. confused me for a little while.

YES i wish they loaded faster but it's on Wikidot's end. the HTML blocks are stored as a seperate file that the site needs to load seperately, and for some reason it takes a long to do. sorry about that!!

Yeah, they really do to be honest. I wanted to spend more time on the writing, but a deadline is a deadline and my other things in life had to take some priority. (And some bits are mostly set-up for something else, but that's a poor excuse for what's delivered here).

I will admit I was this close to downvoting before I realized I was missing the rest of the article.

You pretty much tackled something I've really wanted to see tackled about the Backrooms: the people, more specifically the interesting politics and skeevy backdoor actions factions can and will take when they're in crisis or otherwise. I'm actually more down to see a more skeevy M.E.G.

People are somehow having a humanitarian crisis due to a lack of food…on level 10?

Level 10 is a level that is full of Almond Water, with puddles everywhere and the Gluff entities which secrete almond water on a regular basis. Almond water, as of the recent rewrite, is also supposed to replenish all the necessary nutrients a wanderer would need to survive.

There are also many communities and settlements in Level 10 whose whole purpose is for food production both local and across the Backrooms.

How?

they didn't mean that people were eating the berries for food, they meant that people wouldn't be worried about being stuck on level 10. i don't think that's true at all - even if you can survive indefinitely on almond water, it's not going to be _pleasant_ - almond water tastes like ass. and anyway, people are separated from their families and communities.
