Finding the Forgotten, Mending the Found.
I think it would be cool, well not for the people but for the mimic, if it could actually warp space around it to make room for itself, or make corridors that are normally straight loop back to it in several ways, using this to guide prey to itself if it starts to get more hungry. However it will attempt to keep the changes subtle so as not to alert the prey that something is wrong. Additionally, what if it could use its ability to distribute the organic matter in its body to create "puppets" of sorts? It could use the vibrations to detect the appearance of an individual it consumed and use that information to create an identical puppet, but often with minor detail flaws you normally wouldn't notice. Just ideas for a possible addendum. The spacial warps could explain it's transportation too.
