Unnumbered Level - "Under Their Own Blankets"

After a long workout day, you lie down and are tired in your bed.

Before sleep arrives, you take your saved book on the shelf next to your bed and read your favorite story.

Since your insomnia is always present and your sleep never arrives, you take the remedy once again that is always used too much.

After that, your yawning happens, and you save your book, and your sleep arises to work your mind and relieve your tiredness.

You close your eyes and fall asleep, knowing that a long day is waiting for you tomorrow.

When you finally fall asleep, suddenly your subconscious fails to produce your beautiful dreams, and you wake up in another place.

SURVIVAL DIFFICULTY:

pending

{$one}.

{$two}.

{$three}.

Description:

An example of the place.

The level would be similar to a lucid dream, due to a theory about the conscience transport, but it is not proven. Its appearance consists of an open space inside the blanket used by the wanderer to nap, treating of an anomalous version due to your uncommon and differentiated characteristics of your original object.

When accessed, the level will be a maze with a height of 0.7 m and 1 m on a side, making wanderers move by crawling. Its path size is undetermined due to presence time in the level; however, it is related to being long. Its temperature is adjustable, being adapted according to the wanderer's comfort level.1

Tests were carried out by I.P.D.L.B., the first main test consisting of observing if it is possible for the entry of another wanderer sharing the same blanket. The entrance occurred normally, and the level was natural for the victims, although it occurred a minimum increase of the size of the entire area. The second main test was to take objects for the level, which ended up happening. To arrive at the place with items, understand being equipped with yourself holding or guarding before entry is made.

Certain zones in the level exhibit conditions of environmental hypoxia, becoming inefficient for breathing and inducing physiological symptoms quickly, so it is advisable to breathe more in open spaces in cases of anxiety or shortness of breath. Any part of its blankets cannot be removed from your victim, regardless of its applied force or of parts.

In addition, there are common reports on what level of product auditory hallucinations, usually whispers in a weakened language, panting respiration, and weakened noise rain with thunder.

In the level, the victim will pass for phenomena that can happen randomly; a list about them was written and presented below.

Phenomenon of Twinkling Shadow:

In the random areas of the level, the Phenomenon of Twinkling Shadow happens when the ambient light is reduced as the region is displaced by the wanderer, making it possible to see only a clarity by the vision edge. It is possible the darkness will be reached the more the individual moves around the area, slightly delaying the return of the lighting. Besides this, in some cases it is also possible to see incessant movement behind the blankets, a clarity, and a luminous silhouette. However, it is not known if the silhouette is indeed a creature or a hallucination, for there is no evidence of its existence outside, and when the figure is touched, it is not possible to feel it.

Phenomenon of Blanket Folding:

Phenomenon of Blanket Folding is observed in certain moments in the level, where blankets present autonomous behavior, bending slowly without external intervention. This process is continuous and repetitive. After each fold, a new section of the cover appears, extending its size.

At a certain point, the folds create black holes on the surface of the fabric. If a wanderer falls in one of them, they will experience the sensation of free fall—as if they had fallen out of bed—just to land again on the same cover. A basis for the occurrence of this phenomenon is perhaps that it is the result of collective memories related to childhood nightmares, such as being afraid of falling or of being swallowed by everyday objects.

Entities Blankets:

The blankets can exhibit an anomalous behavior. Upon detecting movement, its extremities stretch and adjust themselves to the host's body in a pattern of progressive constriction. During this process, microfilaments excrete a sedative substance with dermal absorption, taking the victim to an involuntary state of sleep. The individuals who were swallowed reported a feeling that the blanket was hugging the body, and automatically these victims slept. The nap demonstrated itself to be absent of dreams or sleep paralysis due to your lack of mention in the report. To identify if the blankets can be entities, they must be observed for the following signs:

Fast movement accompanied by the sound of a human snore.

Sudden changes of shape or size of blankets.

Quick and unexpected folds in the blankets.

If the blankets show these behaviors, it is advisable to immediately leave the place where they are.

Bases, Outposts, or Communities:

Due to the level's nature, there are not any Bases, Outposts, or Communities inside the level.

Entrances and Exits:

Entrances

Entrances occur from effects influenced by substances in the wanderer during your nap, usually causing sleep disturbances that prevent the awakening of the victim.

Ingesting medication or drugs related to sleep in excess consequently can lead to this level. Studies about them are being done because it is not known what determined products lead to the level. The reason the list production doesn't occur currently is the lack of certainty about the medications that were referred.

Supposedly, another entrance occurred while sleeping in the bed of Level PT-14 and other persons say it happened after they slept using a blanket they brought from there due to personal needs. While asleep, a wake-up call for the access to the level occurred from the moment in which the blanket presented the symptoms of an Entity Blanket. The reason for the occurrence of entrance is possibly the presence of present substances in the blanket of Level PT-14. It also was possible this entrance happened with people who were dividing the blanket.

Exits

Passing an undetermined time in the level will forcefully leave the wanderer in the origin level. The time doesn't seem to be long, but it also doesn't seem to be short.

Although it is hard, the wanderer can noclip on the side or underneath supposedly any blanket of the level. For unknown reasons, when this exit is realized, the wanderer wakes up tired with a feeling that it was agreed upon for something.

You wake up and ask yourself, what has happened?

You think that the blanket's world in which it passed is just a dream, but actually, this replaced your dream.

Your subconscious was overloaded with those medicaments, overloaded for them, and felt exhausted because they were constantly trying to induce sleep until then, and his energy ran out.

They only wished to repose in that place because they considered it cozy.

Those blankets comforted and lulled to sleep, because they understood the exhaustion.

Thinking that you was stuck inside of your own blanket, you screamed, but nobody heard you. Do you know that nobody can help you there, right?

If you enter into it, nobody can wake you up out of it until you come back.

Let your subconscious rest here. People don't believe in his exhaustion, but they should.

Good night wanderer, and principally, your subconscious.

Road

We all have our own problems.

In a solitary universe, there was an infinite, cold field cut through by a road. The road was like a giant scar that divided the field into two vast, endless parts of yellowed, tall, brittle grass that surrounded it. But this road had a peculiarity: a single sound could be heard, breaking the immensity of near-deafening silence.

A lanky man walked, his hat well-adjusted, his heavy coat over his shoulders and a briefcase hanging from his right arm. The world seemed dead and its color palette was unsettling and strange: the dark-green of the man’s suit, the faded yellow of the grass and the grey, almost black, of the road and the sky, in a bleak, overcast world. And, in that universe of limited colors, the man did not speak, did not shout, and his movements were the only audible noises — his shoes striking the worn stone, or the metallic contents of his briefcase clinking in time with his steps.

The emptiness that filled the place was so great that the man himself could hear his heartbeat, and could almost smell the faintest scent carried across the distance; but despite the adversities, his focus was on the road. Each step echoed in a space where sound seemed not to know where to go. The musty smell of his coat mixed with the freshness of the oxygen, making the air feel heavy. The man continued to walk without hesitation, with firm, resolute strides. His eyes were fixed on the horizon as if they pierced the fog that covered the “end” of the road, almost as if he could see beyond it. One thing he was sure of: he would reach the end of the road.

In the middle of his walk — a distance only a divine figure could know — he felt a small breath, a cold caress that touched his coat: it was wind. A signal had been given to the man. The world around him seemed to sigh in the silence. The only interruption was the sound of his own footsteps echoing on the stone. The wind brought with it a slight chill, a feeling that nature around him was beginning to manifest, as if the road were alive and watching him.

As the walk continued, now accompanied by the light cold wind, things gradually began to change. The man, his eyes fixed on the horizon, slowly began to notice that the ground around him was no longer empty. Small and large stones of various shapes, distributed evenly, emerged from the fog, as if the world were revealing itself, taking on a new form. However, the difference was not enough to make the man lose the concentration he had imposed on his goal. The man kept walking.

The wind grew stronger; it was bothersome to the man — no longer a simple puff as before, but an irritating breeze that seemed to disturb him. For quite some time he walked among various stones and boulders, still arranged uniformly, but which were extremely far from filling even half of the immensity of the field that gave off a damp smell. Were the stones merely a warning that something different was coming?

Suddenly the wind became so strong it seemed to push him backward, as if the world were against him. The man had difficulty moving and, in a desperate motion, he began to run. He was not willing to let himself be carried away so easily. The wind was a mere complication created against him, believed to be a trivial obstacle by some divine figure. He was so determined to fight the wind that all his olfactory senses had gone; he smelled nothing else and thought of nothing else. The wind’s complication was the only thing in the persistent man’s head. He ran without stopping until, inevitably, his hat fell and vanished into the surrounding fog.

The man stopped. The serious expression on his face remained. Is this the end? He sat down on the pavement, set his briefcase on the ground and opened it, revealing a pen and a canned vegetable soup with a large sticker, the text scrawled in red ballpoint ink as if done in haste: it read “POISONED.”

The man pulled a crumpled piece of paper from the back pocket of his trousers and, while the strong gusts made the whole process difficult, he grabbed the pen from his briefcase and wrote a dense text recounting his life.

After writing the text, the man put the pen back in his briefcase and tossed the paper into the air; it quickly vanished into the fog as it was carried off by the strong storm. Then he took the canned vegetable soup that had been stored in his briefcase, opened it and drank. He knew he was condemning himself, and accepted the fate he had chosen. But the man enjoyed the poisoned soup in a disconcerting way; it seemed he had not eaten for more than six hundred years. The hot liquid touched his tongue and, in a breeze as uncomfortable as the others, it relaxed him instantly. The taste of the vegetables was intense, with carrot, potato and onion standing out. The salt provided a pleasant contrast. This would surely be the best meal he would ever have.

A sense of fatigue began to envelop his body like an invisible hand squeezing him. His legs, once firm, now felt heavy and lifeless. The air became denser and his chest tightened as if the road itself were trying to suffocate him. But he no longer cared. His hands, still holding the cup of poisoned liquid, trembled slightly, but he did not drop it. The end of the road no longer mattered.

The soup, now cold, no longer warmed him. Each sip felt like a farewell, a last sigh drawing him closer to the end. He felt the poison running through his veins, each drop consuming him slowly, as if his very life were draining away. There was no more strength to go on. He knew he would not rise again. The horizon, which had once seemed distant, now appeared like an illusion. The path he had traveled no longer made sense. He sat there, alone, waiting for the end.

The wind, which had once irritated him, now seemed to whisper words he did not want to hear. But the man no longer had the strength to react. The poison and the silence became his only companions.

He closed his eyes for a moment, allowing the weight of his decision to surround him. There was no longer a struggle. Only the acceptance of inevitability. The road, the field, the void and the wind around him disappeared completely. The end was near and his efforts to express himself had been in vain, but at least the gust had stopped and the soup had indeed been the most delicious he had ever eaten. And so he remained, sitting, waiting for what would come next, with no strength left to resist.

The Level’s verdant field.

Level PT-49 is the 50th Level of the Lusophone Backrooms. This Level is considered, by many, the best to live in due to the benefits that it provides.

Description:

Level PT-49 is characterized by different sets of fields and small forests that expand infinitely. Occasionally, some houses and cabins that are similar to a rustic European style from the 20th century can be found. Its fields do not present any significant difference to the Frontroom’s geography, having the presence of natural bodies of water like lakes, rivers, streams, and the abundance of small, predominantly wooded forests.

An image of a small forest in the Level taken before a heavy storm occurred.

The Level lacks a day and night cycle, maintaining the sun permanently fixed at 09:00 AM. This Level experiences significant inconsistent changes in its seasonal behavior, letting its only seasons, summer and spring, be unpredictable. Currently, the Level finds itself on spring, about 9 months ago.

Level PT-49 also is subject to some climate variations typical to rural regions, including the formation of charged clouds, heavier winds and rains, providing an abundance of drinkable water. Although rare, heavy storms can occur, leading to intense rain, an increase in wind speed, thunder formation, and room temperature reduction. Despite the risks relating to the storms, they possess a short duration, which ranges from some hours up to two days.

Geography Information:

Season: Spring (9 months);

Climate: Predominantly sunny with rarefied clouds;

Temperature: Approximately 24.3°C (75.74°F) in dry weather.;

Time: 09:00 AM, in relation to the distance from the ground to the middle of the sky (Permanent).

Level's Agriculture:

Level PT-49 is frequently associated by wanderers with a large source of natural resources, dedicated to planting and harvesting. The Level has a fruit, legumes, and vegetable growth acceleration property.

When exploring the Level, it’s possible to find various sources of already planted and potentially ready-for-harvest foods. Some examples of crops include:

CATEGORIES

CROPS

Fruits

Apple, pear, grape, strawberry, peach, orange, lemon, tangerine, banana, avocado, papaya, pomegranate, fig, blackberry.

Vegetables

Carrot, potato, sweet potato, pumpkin, zucchini, eggplant, tomato, cucumber, corn, cauliflower, chayote, beetroot.

Greens

Lettuce, spinach, kale, arugula, chard, watercress, chicory, chives, coriander, parsley, basil, mint.

Grains

Wheat, rice, corn, beans, soy.

Fruit Trees

Orange trees, lemon trees, apple trees, pear trees, cherry trees, peach trees, avocado trees, mango trees, fig trees, walnut trees, jabuticaba trees.

Other Crops

Sugar cane, coffee, tea, lavender, palm trees, mushrooms, medicinal herbs.

Level's Houses:

The houses on Level PT-49 frequently show a rustic style, with characteristics akin to the rural European style from the start of the 20th century. Some residences have exposed stone or old brick facades, mixing natural elements with traditional designs. Pitched roofs covered by clay tiles or wood are common, frequently completed by small chimneys or decorative turrets.

The windows usually have white or grey frames, usually adorned with arcs or small flowerpot details. It’s common that the vegetation mixes in with the architecture, with vines climbing the walls or well-taken-care-of gardens surrounding the buildings. Some of these houses appear isolated, surrounded by high trees or next to small bodies of water.

The interior of the Level’s houses is usually predominantly furnished and decorated with different furniture and decorations that remind of a simpler and rural life. Although some don’t contain electrical energy or advanced technology, they can still contain turned-off devices, such as fridges, electric ovens, fans, and electric showers.

The water from the faucets is seemingly inexhaustible, due to the fact that no tubes connecting them to a water pump exist. Some houses occasionally have water tanks that usually have a finite capacity. The water is generally pure and adequate for consumption.

The furniture is frequently abundant and characteristic of past times, a lot of times having an appearance that suggests handmade manufacturing or, more rarely, ornaments with a factory appearance. They are described as comfortable, useful, cozy, and highly suitable for survival. It’s not uncommon to find houses with more than two or even three separate rooms, all completely furnished and decorated.

Kitchens are generally composed of a mixture of 20th-century and contemporary furniture, including fridges, ovens, wood ovens, ornate wooden benches, and crockery from different eras, arranged side by side. These variations can be completely random in the kitchens, depending on the luck of those who find them.

The foods in the fridges can also be found randomly, generally being natural products such as eggs, milk, breads, wheat or cornmeal cakes, coffee, fruits, vegetables, legumes, among others. It’s recommended to assess the state of the foods, since houses with fridges and without electrical energy can show variable conservation conditions.

Bases, Outposts, and Communities:

"Cottage Base" - I.P.D.L.B.:

Cottage Base is composed of 120 members of the I.P.D.L.B.’s organization team, most of them being artisans, carpenters, farmers, and gatherers. Although some members permanently reside on the Level, most are called to carry out resource-gathering missions, aiming at the furniture distribution to other bases of the organization.

Craftsmen: Focuses on the building or reusing of furniture parts and pieces, mainly wood, to be reused on other bases;

Carpenters: Responsible for fixing worn-out or broken furniture inside Level PT-49, utilizing their own-brought or found-on-the-level tools;

Farmers: They are called to acquire, plant, take care of, and harvest plantations created by the I.P.D.L.B., aiming at obtaining more abundant resources at the base’s proximity;

Gatherers: In charge of gathering food from empty houses, dispersed plantations, or trading equipment and rare items with other local wanderer groups, taking advantage of unavailable resources on the Level.

Solares:

A small community composed of around 80 inhabitants. Its base is formed by three grouped houses on the Level itself, along with dozens of other houses and manually built warehouses.

Completely friendly;

Value nature and the simple life;

Opt to not utilize technological objects.;

Manage a good local business, offering handmade food, furniture, clothes, and decoration and comfort objects;

Hold an extensive quantity of plantations, vegetable gardens, and orchards under their possession.

Entrances And Exits:

Entrances:

Upon finding a wooden rustic window on Level PT-21, it will be possible to enter a house.

Walking across Level PT-58’s plain can occasionally lead one to the Level.

Wooden trapdoors on Level PT-72 can lead one to the attic of one of the houses.

Touching the poster on Level PT-19, which makes reference to this Level.

Exits:

Suffering a no-clip in the forest can lead one to Level PT-18 or Level PT-51.

Throwing oneself on decorative bushes has a small probability of suffering a no-clip to Level PT-77.

If one notices that the forest’s ground contains fallen autumn leaves, following onward will lead to Level PT-46.

Season: Spring (9 months);

Climate: Predominantly sunny with rarefied clouds;

Temperature: Approximately 24.3°C (75.74°F) in dry weather.;

Craftsmen: Focuses on the building or reusing of furniture parts and pieces, mainly wood, to be reused on other bases;

Carpenters: Responsible for fixing worn-out or broken furniture inside Level PT-49, utilizing their own-brought or found-on-the-level tools;

Farmers: They are called to acquire, plant, take care of, and harvest plantations created by the I.P.D.L.B., aiming at obtaining more abundant resources at the base’s proximity;

Gatherers: In charge of gathering food from empty houses, dispersed plantations, or trading equipment and rare items with other local wanderer groups, taking advantage of unavailable resources on the Level.

Solares:

A small community composed of around 80 inhabitants.

Level PT-1 is the second Level of the Lusophone Backrooms. The level is known for its low presence of Entities, however, its ambient danger should not be underestimated.

Description:

The floor known as Level PT-1 is an office complex of, at the moment, undefined dimensions. The main characteristic of the place is the presence of plants and fungi that grow in various regions of the level. These plants generally grow in places where they wouldn’t acquire any sustenance. The method by which these organisms survive is unknown.

The vegetative life on Level PT-1 doesn’t appear to have a limit on growth, expanding to a point in which it covers whole rooms of the level. Additionally, the plants show great structural resistance. This makes explorations of the level difficult at times and forces wanderer groups to migrate.

The level is rich in bacterial fauna. Multiple microorganisms can be found throughout Level PT-1, being especially present in places on the floor with the biggest plant presence. The meaning behind this is unknown; more studies are being conducted that are limited due to the lack of technology and I.P.D.L.B. operatives in the place.

Due to the high number of microorganisms, eventually some began to show abnormal biological behavior. This has caused many problems for the level and its population. The occurrence of a pandemic in the Backrooms is feared due to these factors. For more information regarding the occurrences of epidemics on Level PT-1, see the section “The Gardeners Incident.”.

Technologies like computers, lights, and other objects are normally found in offices are present on the level. However, many pieces are found broken or damaged. The level's vegetative life has caused the destruction of some of these objects.

Due to the uncontrollable plant growth, it is believed that the level’s structures may eventually be irreversibly damaged. Because of this, the I.P.D.L.B. has joined forces with local groups to control the plants’ growth in inhabited regions while evacuation plans are being concluded.

The Gardeners Incident

Approximately two years after the date of writing this archive, a group of survivors on Level PT-1 known as “Gardeners” were infected by an unknown micro-organism during the removal of some plants that were damaging the Level’s structure. The infection occurred due to the wounds made accidentally during the removal.

Initially, the procedure followed as expected by the group, until two days after the removal of a plant that covered some regions of the level. At that moment, the members who participated in the removal began to demonstrate symptoms not corresponding to any known disease.
The members affected by the micro-organism began to manifest traits of vegetal life on their bodies. The individuals began to develop leaves and wood on various parts of their bodies, which was reported as being very painful.

In a short time, the infection began to spread to other levels connected to Level PT-1 and caused an epidemic among the diverse Wanderers' groups. The I.P.D.L.B. intervened in the situation and isolated groups and infected individuals while researching the cause of the event. With the help of other influent groups, the infection was contained.

I.P.D.L.B. members are working with other Wanderers with knowledge in the area of infectiology and related fields. Other measures to prevent future incidents are being applied on Level PT-1.

The surviving individuals were moved to an I.P.D.L.B. outpost for further analysis. At the moment, all have died and had their bodies incinerated.

Entities:

Not many entities were seen in Level PT-1. There have been reports of encounters with the Newcomers at various points of the level. Curiously, the most reported encounter with entities is, in actuality, the corpses of these beings.

These corpses are mainly found in regions with a large plant concentration. Usually, the bodies have plants growing in them. The cause of death of these entities cannot be identified at the moment. Additionally, it's often not possible to determine to which entity the bodies belong, due to the plant growth and other deformities.

Bases, Outposts, and Communities:

There are few communities on the level. The existing ones are being slowly evacuated or were already relocated by the I.P.D.L.B. to other levels. It’s discouraged to build any type of group on Level PT-1.

The Gardeners (deceased)

Previously, The Gardeners was a group composed of around 10 people; the name of the group came from its focus on the removal of plants present in the level. The plants removed by the group were traded with other survivors for various means, including the object and food fabrication. The I.P.D.L.B. utilized the group’s help to remove the plants from various regions on the level.

I.P.D.L.B. Gamma Outpost "Jungle"

An outpost divided along the Level, being located at different points in the Entrances and Exits of Level PT-1. I.P.D.L.B. members have the mission of monitoring the entrances and exits of the Level to avoid that any infected of any diseases leave the place.

If you are infected or know someone who is infected by any illness from Level PT-1, contact any I.P.D.L.B. member in any section of the Outpost.

Office Soldiers

A group formed by ex-soldiers and members of the armed forces who ended up finding themselves in the Backrooms. The group is non-hostile but doesn’t like outside wanderers. The group’s installations are small cabins located in the southern region of the level. The group possesses grand tendencies of isolating itself from other Wanderers.

Most of the information about the group is unknown. Communication with the community’s members is hard, but not impossible. Rarely does the group talk with outsiders.

Entrances And Exits:

Entrances:

Finding an office door emitting insect sounds leads to this level.

Eating contaminated food on Level PT-37 leads to here.

Entering a green door overrun by moss on Level PT-51’s forest leads to one of the offices.

Exits:

Upon entering any door marked as a bathroom, a Wanderer will be transported to Level PT-3.

Dear all,

Firstly, I would like to thank you for the excellent work that you have been doing, cataloging Level PT-1. Your services have been saving a lot of wanderers from the dangers of the floor. All of you deserve congratulations.

But, honestly, we don’t have time for that. There is something that all of us involved with the level need to know; all from our side, of course. I ask that you do not reveal this information under any circumstance to anyone; we don’t know what could happen if something like this reaches the wrong hands.

The information you need to know is that the plants aren’t native to the floor. We don’t know how they came, if they were created, etc. The relevant thing is that, as you may have noticed, the plants aren’t normal. Maybe we shouldn’t even call them plants, but anyway.

They are parasites, migrating from level to level; PT-1 is merely infected. During the Garderners Incident, it wasn’t only the diseases that left, but the plants too. We don’t know how, but those damn things expanded to more and more levels. The current theory is that they use some limited form of no-clip, but this can’t be confirmed.

As the only essential fact, the plants and diseases are connected. During an exploration on PT-5, we found something: a replica of one of those plants with a small description. It said that they were capable of producing multiple non-identified pathogens. Further research is being conducted, but I deduce that we won’t find anything else.

Our main objective is to avoid panic. We will continue removing the plants and the wanderers from the Level. The current plan is to move everyone to the Aquatic Corridor in a few months. Because of this, I ask for dedication like I never asked any of you.

Following the sounds of waves leads to Level PT-11.

No-clipping on this level will lead to Level PT-31.

From:

Dr. Rampart

To:

Gamma Outpost's Team

Subject:

Level PT-1

Dear all,

Firstly, I would like to thank you for the excellent work that you have been doing, cataloging Level PT-1.

Description

Object PT-2, known as "Mystic Coffee", takes the form of different caffeinated beverages, usually found in teacups and plastic cups. Each drink contains a unique ability, and many are still unknown. Because of this, it's recommended that those who drink the liquids be extremely careful with unknown/unexperimented types by the I.P.D.L.B. The drinks can be found randomly in Backrooms levels, usually on top of desks, and can also be generated by the Mystical Coffee Maker on Level PT-17. The drinks can’t be changed from one recipient to another, such as being put in bottles, as they lose their anomalous abilities.

So far, there are only six variants that have their abilities explained, and another one is being tested as of the date of this article’s creation.

Abilities List

Below is the abilities list of the six discovered variants so far, along with the information on the unknown one. In all variations, the ability is only activated after the complete consumption of the liquid.

Common Coffee

Image of one Common Coffee, taken by a wanderer before being ingested by the same.

Being the most common variant found/produced, Common Coffee can teleport anyone who drinks it to a random part of the level. Usually, this ability is useful if the wanderer is being hunted down by entities; however, the opposite can also happen, causing the wanderer to be teleported to a part of the level with a high quantity of entities. As such, it’s recommended that wanderers utilize this variation only on safe levels or levels with a low entity population.

Espresso

It’s the second most common variant found/produced, but also the most dangerous. Espresso can increase the adrenaline levels in one’s body, making the wanderer experience what is known as an “adrenaline rush.” The danger of Espresso, however, is its excessive consumption. Only one teacup of Expresso increases the adrenaline level in the body by 75%. Two complete tea cups, however, can increase the adrenaline level up to 125%. Elevated consumption of Expresso can cause the wanderer adrenal insufficiency, which can cause fatigue, dizziness, and low blood pressure. In cases of extreme consumption, the wanderer may have a heart attack, stroke, and possibly death. Because of these factors, it’s recommended to only drink small amounts of Espresso.

Cappuccino

Image of a heart-shaped Cappuccino, taken after its discovery in Level PT-17.

It’s the rarest variant found/produced and contains the ability to increase or decrease the perception of one of the 5 senses in those who drink it. The severity and duration of the effect are completely random and can range from mild blindness to complete deafness, lasting for a few seconds up to several hours. However, unlike other drinks, Cappuccinos have a unique characteristic, which indicates which of the 5 senses will be affected.

Taste

Because of its randomness, it’s recommended to exercise extreme caution with this variation, as it’s unknown how to discover the duration of the effect, its intensity, and if the sense will improve or worsen.

Latte

Image of a Latte, taken by an unknown traveler.

The third most common variant, and with one of the most useful abilities found/produced is the Latte. Lattes are topped with a layer of foam, often decorated with leaf-shaped latte art. This variation can increase the stamina of the wanderer, increasing their heartbeat and speed. As useful as it may be, excessive consumption can increase the heartbeat exponentially, causing various cardiac problems, muscle pain, fatigue, extreme tiredness, and difficulty breathing.

Iced Latte

The second rarest variant found/produced and with one of the simplest abilities. All drinks of this type have a calming effect. When consumed, the drink will lower the heartbeat and relax the muscles of the drinker over time, helping if the wanderer is experiencing extreme anxiety, paranoia, panic, etc. or needs to rest. However, like all other types, excessive consumption may make the heart stop beating or weaken the muscles, thus preventing them from contracting and making them unable to be “activated” once again.

Coffee with Milk

Image of a Coffee with Milk taken at an unknown level.

Being the last variant with its abilities known and the third rarest, its ability is the safest of all. The ability of this variation is healing, mainly of minor injuries, such as cuts, scratches, and bleeding. It’s unknown how the drink can heal the wanderer; however, it’s speculated the healing ability comes from the milk mixed with the coffee. Out of all variations of the object, this is the only one that has no known drawbacks, being one of the few variants that are 100% safe for ingestion.

Americano

Image of an Americano. Due to unknown reasons, the photo was not able to be taken clearly.

The abilities of this variant of coffee are still unknown, as is its rarity. It was produced only once. For unknown reasons, any photos attempted to be taken of this type are not clear, making photo attempts nearly impossible. It’s described as being hotter than the others, being able to reach up to 50 °C (122 °F). More information about this variation is being tested, as the first and only tea cup containing the drink ended up breaking due to the elevated levels of temperature it presents.

Symbol

Sense

Heart

Smell

Star

Touch

Leaf

Vision

Dove

Hearing

Geometric Symbols
