Right, I won't get too deep into formalities and the such, so I'll just get into what I have to say immediately.
We (the guard team) have seen an increase in sightings of masked individuals stalking us during our shifts. Unless it's something we have yet to hear of, we suspect Object 24 related interference. Their motives are unknown for now, but it's getting freaky for us when we're trying to do our jobs with those people — if that's what they even are anymore — watching us whilst we work.
Could we request backup during our shifts for security reasons? I have a hunch that this may go wholly wrong.

I understand your concerns pertaining to this slight breach of security. However, we all know that the danger posed by masked individuals is very low; the connection they hold towards the masks can be terminated with relative ease. Personally, I do not see this as an issue which requires further interference. I suggest you pay closer attention to our database entries for wall masks to see what needs to be done about this.
For the time being, the request of security backup from our teams seems unnecessary. Try to handle this yourselves.

With all due respect, Overseer, I do not know of any cases where Masked individuals are this intrusive in nature to our activities as they are now. I should know, I've interacted with such wearers beforehand.
I insist upon our request for backup or a potential upgrade in our weaponry so we can dispatch them more efficiently should anything occur. I state once more that something seems very off right now.

We currently have our highest-quality weaponry being used in other missions as we speak. The B.N.T.G. have yet to retrieve more stock of such weaponry, and as far as priorities go, they are at the top as of now. If they can be handled with relative ease — as the Object 24 entry suggests they can — then I still do not see any valid reasons to approve this request.
I highly doubt anything will occur. The entry in the database mentions the three methods of terminating mask connections, you should refer to that for the time being.

You don't understand, these are different than other mask wearers. A few days ago, Avril was outside the main gate holing her post like usual, when one of them which was wearing that one joke-telling mask wearers began to watch her. She didn't notice it at first, but when she did, it didn't just start telling it jokes like it normally would do; it just ran off, giggling feverishly as it turned the corner and went out of sight.
This is not normal behavior. Something is terribly wrong, and you're just dismissing it based on what's in the article. It's not the first time an article's content wasn't correct. Some developments could've undergone related to the object that we have yet to hear of, which would hinder the information in the article redundant. Either way, we need to be prepared for whatever may happen.

I see. I do believe it is possible that some defining traits of the different masks could have been missed during our studies. We are all human after all, and we all make mistakes — or at least that's what Overseer-A says.
You seem to be describing the effects of the "Arlecchino Mask". If they return and tell a joke, just respond with the appropriate action mentioned in the Entry. If the behavior differs from what is in the article, then I suggest improvising as time goes on. We have not seen anything like this before, so you are free to dispatch targets in any way that is needed.

Update: They've gotten closer to where I'm at. I don't think they're targeting Base Gamma as a whole, I think they're targeting me. I'm watching them over terminal cameras. Everyone is still oblivious to what's happened; I don't know what's going on. I've locked the door already. Please urge them to be quick. I don't know how long it'll take that thing to get to me.

Team Fireflies is currently making their way from Base Omega to the position of an elevator in Level 4 that is known to take Wanderers to Level 3. From there, they can reach Base Gamma within a few minutes if they're quick enough.
Still no security breach reports on our side as of know. Whatever's possessing them to do such a thing knows what it's doing.
What is the current status of the rest of the people in Base Gamma?

Iris will remain alive for as long as you halt experimentation of Wall Masks on people. We'll feed her and keep her healthy for as long as she's with us, but if we find out that a single experiment has been carried out in the meantime, I'll personally make sure she curses your name out loud as she bleeds out on the floor. Sounds fun, right?
Oh, and also, don't try to cheat the game. We'll know if you've done so regardless of if you hide it or not. It wouldn't be a fun game if we don't play by the rules!

Hey Michael, it's Andrew.
Three days ago, we lost agent Iris Wilkins, a guard who was stationed at Level 3's Gamma base, to an unknown assailant who breached base walls without setting off the alarm. I trust that you remember the emergency transfer that you were assigned, and that documentation of the incident was handled by another one of your crewmates, correct?
There is, however… something which I have neglected to tell you. Something I have neglected to tell all of you. Keep what I am going to be telling you now between us at all costs.
There is a group going around The Backrooms which are targeting people like you and I under the guise of eliminating corruption in our circles. They all bear instances of Object 24, and they use the powers that the masks grant them to their full advantage to fulfill said goal.
As you know, Iris' unknown assailant was reported by her to be masked. Let's just say that… this 'unknown assailant' was not really unknown at all. You can probably see where I am going with this.
Prior to her death, me and Iris had been communicating via emails. This group, known as the Masked Maidens, had been stalking Base Gamma's guards for some time prior to her emailing, and Iris had brought it to my attention that night. I knew what she had meant when she began describing her stalkers immediately. I knew what the people she was talking about wanted from me. I knew what was going to happen to her, and I knew what they were going to do to her. This is not the first time I have played the game of chess with the Maidens.
They requested for us to stop our experimentation on Object 24, something which we ultimately cannot do due to projects which I am afraid I cannot disclose to you. They put Iris' life to ransom, but that did little to stop me from continuing my work.
As far as you, me, and everyone else in The Backrooms are concerned from this point onwards, Iris died from an unknown assailant who stealthily breached Base gamma. Research is still ongoing to determine who it was and what their motives were. That is what your team will write on the report that you will submit to me. I trust that you will follow what I have just said word for word.
No mention of the Masked Maidens shall be included in this report, and you shall not speak of them at any point going onwards. It is imperative that we do not reveal anything about them to the public; I will handle them myself.
As for you, this conversation never happened, and it would be a damn shame if it did.
